Bucs at Dolphins game moved to week 11 due to Hurricane Irma; brutal schedule for Dolphins

There's another tropical storm forming right behind Irma and gaining strength, too. Rick the Prick has declared a state of emergency in every Florida county.

Where should I donate?

They could move the game to Carolina ( Panthers are on the road) for a neutral site. Jacksonville is an option unless the storm turns north... I don't think Atlanta is an option. Falcons would crap themselves if the first game played in their new stadium was Miami- Tampa.....
Hurricane Katrina is the reason you have two games on opening Monday. In 2005, the Saints had to play all their games on the road and their opening game was versus NY Giants. They couldn't move the game to Sunday in the Meadowlands because the Jetes already had a home game so they moved it to Monday night early when there was already another game scheduled and IIRC they started the game at 7 PM to minimize overlap. Ratings were so good, they kept the opening Monday doubleheader....

The NFL says it will not be in Florida anytime this week.

So I'm guessing either in Carolina on Sunday or wait until week 11 (which seems the best for fans)

Damn...that London game really looks bad now.

Hurricane forcing a week 1 bye happened to the Pats in 1992 against...Miami. This will be twice in 25 years this happened to the Dolphins.

Regards,
Chris

This is silly. Can't they just move it to another stadium. I know they are worried about fans traveling to the game but it isn't a big deal if the stadium isn't totally full and less unfair to the Miami and the Bucs in the long run. Better to miss a few million in ticket sales than put players in jeopardy like this..

Oh right... the NFL doesn't care about that. Forgot.

I don't ever feel bad for the Dolphins (and their fans) at all, but that's absolutely insane. Are you seriously trying to sit here and tell me that this billion dollar business couldn't actually negotiate a neutral game at even a college stadium (like Doak Campbell in Tallahassee) or something along those lines? Those two teams are going to get absolutely killed with injuries.

Appearantly the Eagles and Steelers offered their stadiums but a compromise on concessions sales and worries about overall money couldn't be reached.
A week one bye is brutal.

Brutal, but ultimately doesn't make a difference in getting to the post season (because they aren't).

Hopefully, everyone in the path of Irma is safe.

Or maybe the players from Miami aren't going to want to be playing football while their homes and communities are being annihilated.

NFL made the right decision here. People are acting like no team ever played 16-in-a-row before; that actually used to be the norm (once upon a time).

Not as brutal as a week 17 bye, which the Patriots once had. That bye ended up not being the final week of the regular season due to the events of September 11, but that is the way it was when the original schedule came out.
