Making cuts after practise? WOW that is brutal, MAYBE it is pratical, if someone gets injured you still have a replacement? In the hollywood version of things, some dude on the bubble would have an INSANE practise and make the team, makes a good story...

while all are just waiting for the cuts..
hillarious stand up

Epic.

That show is on the list as one of the greatest TV casts and comedies of all time.

Agreed 100%.

I was sitting behind Christopher Lloyd on a red-eye back from Seattle...I wanted to write that on a napkin and pass it up to him, but he was asleep before we took off.

That registry of motor vehicles scene ranks up there with "Who's on First?" (well, never mind - that one is the best comedic skit by miles), the last episode of "Newhart" when Bob woke up next to Susanne Pleschette, Carol Burnett's "Scarlett O'Hara" gown, and Nick's brownies in "Barney Miller" as comedy that will stay with you for the rest of your days.

I had to listen to a bunch of Gen X'ers telling me that "Seinfeld" was the greatest comedy ever...Taxi, Barney Miller, All in the Family, MASH...sorry, but no.

Here's Jeff Howe's rationale:

"10:25 a.m.: The Patriots are back on the practice field this afternoon, just before the 4 p.m. deadline for roster cuts. It's a cold reality for the handful of players who look like they'll be practicing before their ultimate release. As of this moment, it doesn't sound like there have been any morning cuts, though the Pats reportedly added two more to the chopping block last night: linebacker Jonathan Freeny and offensive lineman Max Rich. That leaves them at 77 players with two dozen to go.

If Bill Belichick does indeed to wait until after practice to finalize the cuts, here's one theory: The players who will be cut are strong practice squad candidates, so Belichick won't want to keep them off the field today when they'll be back tomorrow anyway. Plus, with the Patriots in regular-season mode due to the early opener, there is some logic in practicing with as many players as possible while injuries mount across the roster. It might look cold on the surface, but there's a way to rationalize it."

Even Gen Xers appreciate great comedy.

Some of us are cultured...some not so much

:p
