I can see it now...."we're the greatest defensive team in NFL history!!!!"

The ground's the limi....uh..er...the sky's the limit now!@

Green Beans win! Quackenbush throws for 127 yards in amazing offensive display, defeating the Titans 7-3! They're building a winner a year ahead of schedule -- bye bye No. 1 pick!

Man this green kool-aid is tasting delicious this morning! :D

That was a pretty impressive performance there by the kid. I don't know if you guys watched it, but Hack looked... dare I say... competent. Had some WRs drop a couple drive killers, but definitely promising. Spreading the ball around, making reads, adjusting pre-snap, being mobile, accuracy, awareness, arm strength...

Oline was freakin awesome! Even some of the backups. (I've been trying to tell you guys the oline wasn't as bad as some of you were saying.)

Backup RB looked solid (Powell and Forte didn't play).

WRs were, as expected, lacking a bit. Because, well it's Robbie Anderson with like 70 career catches, and then basically unknowns. Yet this makes everything even more impressive. And Robbie Anderson looks to be seizing the opportunity.

Even got some contributions from TEs! ASJ, after his two game suspension to start the year, may be a solid weapon.

Just about everything on the defense was impressive. 1st, 2nd and 3rd stringers. Still baffled by the Dline starters running sprints during timeouts most of the game. No clue what that was about.

All adding up to an A+ for what Macc and Bowles are doing. Takes some seriously inflated balls to do what Macc did, and some damn good coaching to get this sort of performance from a team this young and inexperienced.

Superbowl bound? No. And there will definitely be bad performances upcoming. Maybe (probably) a lot of 'em.

But this was a great way to start the season. Exactly what I was hoping to see from the team. In fact they're way ahead of schedule. Seems to be improvement and development in every phase of the game. Win or lose, should be a great season.

Man if this keeps up, what are we gonna spend the 80+ mil on cap space on next year? We'll be set at all positions already. ;)

Meanwhile, I caught a bit of the Giants-Steelers game and Gee-No Smith was at QB for the Gints. Typical Gee-No performance: a few series where he made the makeable throws, followed by a totally unexplainable pick. He threw it into a cluster of three Steelers with no Giants anywhere in the picture.

Soooooo .... 8-8 ??

"Exactly what I was hoping for " ?

I thought you were hoping for the first pick.

This sounds more like what I was hoping for. Haha

If Hack proves to be our QB moving forward, things change drastically. Wayyyyyyy too early to say that now though. But if over the next weeks/months Hack looks legit, the whole "tank" thing goes out the window.

Hell, maybe you even try to bring in a WR via a trade somehow.

But barring Hack being the answer, which I still consider to be unlikely since it was only one meaningless preseason game, tanking is the next best bet. Mind you it's tanking while still developing the young guys, but positioning for a top draft pick nonetheless.

Lol, he was basically throwing it away. Smh, it's pretty bad being this worried about a sophomore QB who didn't play as a rookie.

How many passes over 10 yards?

Sh!t, I dunno man. I'm not counting stats with him yet. One, two, three maybe? Look it up and tell me. Though I really don't care. 50% of the guys who caught balls from him may have never caught an NFL pass before.

Ha slow it down a bit man.

Trust us we know. Brady's sophomore season was just brutal.

I'm not all that familiar with Brady's seasons. He was good his sophomore season?

I understand all that but Hack was a high pick for QB starved team. And tbh his work on the field hasn't been that good so far.

The whole "you have to wait X amount of years" before you can judge a QB is a false narrative.

These are big boys getting paid millions. It's ok to judge

The Jets obviously don't agree with you regarding Hack. There was plenty of opportunity to play him last season and I don't think he even suited up until week 17.

The kid was shell-shocked in college after that whole Penn State BS. They obviously knew this was going to be a slow-play gamble.

Seems like last year was a learn and recover year. Now it's like his rookie year. And yesterday was a solid start. Will it be good enough to move ahead of 40 year veteran McCown in time for week 1?.. Probably not. Though I hope so.

Regardless I'm happy with what I saw. All around at every position (except the kicking game) things were better than what I had expected.

Yeah, he probably couldn't reach the reporters up in the press box anyway. He'll be great. Nothing to worry about. All your problems are solved, on to Game 2 of preseason.

Posts like these are why I'm watching less of Comedy Central nowadays. This is shaping up to be a solid 5-11/8-8 team. Let's celebrate with a special treat!

Oy vey

See, not bad...

Nothing amazing either. Again consider a new West Coast offense and playing mostly with weapons who have never played in an NFL game before. So it was called conservative.

Yup, things are shaping up nicely. McClown starting the season off, Quackenbush possibly finishing it, five to eight wins. Sounds good, don't it?

Only if Hack is the QB moving forward. Otherwise 5+ wins is bad.
