Zeke Elliot suspended 6 games.

Zeke supposedly will appeal, how pathetic. Stop being selfish and just take the six games and move on. It's too much of a distraction.

I heard that Jones is not going to take the Kraft high road and could go nuclear on the League. He had to be talked down from suing the League when they hit him with the salary cap penalty for spending during the uncapped year.

LOL, too bad for him that the Brady suspension, which he supported, set the precedent. As others have said, be careful what you wish for Jerry.

Yeah, but there's really nothing he can do here. Unlike Kraft with deflategate, Jones' team received no punishment. I don't think an owner has any standing to sue when one of his own players gets suspended. I mean, could you imagine if every team sued when one of their own was suspended?

Is Berman being briefed on this?

I tried to register for the Cowboys forums to rub a little salt in their wounds but the admins have to approve accounts and I doubt they're doing that today.

I took a while to think about this before posting. I did relish that this is happening to Jerry Jones, after all, he did say Goodell was doing a good job and is fair after handing down Brady's 4 game suspension (without definitive proof of any wrongdoing). Now all of a sudden he's doing a terrible job and is unfair.

This does remind me a bit of the Brady suspension, in that, there is LEGALLY no proof of a crime being committed. Key word is legally. That being said, the crime he is accused of is despicable, and ANYONE who does this deserves to be suspended big time ( my opinion, forever).

My concern is the police did not arrest or convict Elliot of doing anything. So what gives the NFL the right to hand down such a suspension. This is where I'm torn. The leadership of the NFL (Goodell) is so corrupt, I don't trust it in any way, shape or form.

But Now Cowboy's fans get to go through what we did for 2 years.

It's funny, the NFL Constitution states that the league office must be in the same city as one of its teams. Which generally makes sense as teams are generally in big markets, and the real purpose of the league office is to be the league's marketers.

That said, this is the downside - the underling employees (not the Commish, but the full time staff) are all going to come from that area, and we've been seeing the terrible bias from the pro-Giant and pro-Jet fans who are in that office.

I kind of wonder if that clause is outdated. San Diego is a large media market, has no NFL franchise now and burned their Charger bridges; any full time staff hired from that So. Cal area right now will likely be only casual fan of whatever team they follow, and it's likely to be a random team. Maybe moving NFL offices there might help.

Goodell is alienating more owners. This is good

F him, but I'm all for him turning against the Commissioner.
I see it more as Goodell alienating the NFLPA by asserting his court-backed powers to their maximum degree.....always with an eye toward the future and the next contract negotiation.
I also think the severe (my opinion) punishment was partially influenced by Dallas' propensity to sign lawbreakers and dirt bags year in, year out. "Keep embarrassing the league and you will pay the price "

Lol I want to sign up and pretend to be one and just say Zeke needs to accept it and move on. Don't care if he did it or not, too mentally exhausting to resolve this, aren't there more important issues in society he should be worried about?

ha ha couldn't happen to a nice fanbase.

My favorite part is seeing them whine about the lifelong Giants fan in the league office who advises on domestic violence. Which, of course, is nothing like a 27 year NY Jets executive instigating an investigation of the Patriots on a cold January evening.

Absolutely RIDICULOUS! I'm an out of market Cowboys fan, cancelling my NFL package with DirecTV.

"I......I just don't believe what Zeke had to say."

A judge can block the suspension.

He just needs to appeal to the Emperor King Goodell, who will reduce the sentence to 4 games. Then he takes it to court, requests an injunction upon further review, and plays out the season while the NFL twists around trying to support their case in front of the legal system. He will get a better shake in the legal system than the NFL because the NFL is a monarchy, as far as discipline goes.

Haha this fool doesn't get it!

But this guy below gets it...

Did you not learn anything from the Brady case? The courts basically said..... hey dumb ass nfl players. You all agreed to give the emperor power to do whatever he wants to you in regards to protecting the "Shield." Dont come crying to the courts to undo what you idiots agreed to. Now get the F out of my court room.
