This is magical thinking. Bourne has nearly zero trade value.

Only cut candidates that have any shot of fetching trade value are Jennings and maybe Strange.

That's certainly possible but risking $9.75M on a player who hasn't passed a physical is a risk that I wouldn't expect a team to take.

If a team trades for either Bourne or Polk while they are on the IR, they are ACCEPTING that the player won't pass a physical immediately. That being said, no team is trading for Polk while having to wait 9 months unless it's a conditional 2027 7th round pick. This isn't MLB.

Bourne passed his physical to be able to practice at the start of camp. And he's not on IR yet. He may not be on IR.

Bourne would cost any team that trades for him his 5.5M salary and whatever he earns in per game bonuses. Said team could cut him without any consequence. The one reason the 49ers would be more likely to trade for Bourne knows their outside zone system, having played in it previously.

Arguably the worst WR room in the league. Purdy is going to struggle badly again and him being overpaid will resurface. The 49ers should've waited it out to see how he did this year as he didn't respond well to adversity last season. They had 5 games they could've won, but Purdy collapsed in all of them.

I don't think he'll ever be the same. Don't expect him until mid season. 49ers window has shut.

Bourne for a 7th makes everyone happy.

If he can prove he’s healthy it’s not a problem.

I think Bourne would fetch this and maybe more, if he were on the field.

For the Niners he would be another guy they would be waiting for.

Unfortunately I think we're going to have to cut Bourne, and reach some sort of settlement, which should be minor.

I see Seven WR's; we can get Creative with our TE's - RB and OL. Our Third TE could be on our PS: same for our Fourth RB and Tenth Offensive Lineman. We can Field a few a positions on our PS.
