Jets Suck -- 2017 Edition (Official): Countdown to Oblivion

I think the best thing for all concerned is if Woody just sells out to some mining magnates in Montana. Take the whole green mess and drop it into the middle of Butte, Montana. Call them the Montana Beauts. If any franchise ever needed a fresh start it's the Jersey Sewer Dwellerets.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Jets' Christian Hackenberg: Narrows gap during minicamp

Hackenberg performed better than anticipated during minicamp, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.

Hackenberg is reportedly ahead of Bryce Petty for the Jets' No. 2 quarterback job, but the second-year pro could be closing the gap on projected starter Josh McCown some. According to the report, the 37-year-old McCown underwhelmed during minicamp, which made the timing of Hackenberg's improvement all the better. However, with training camp and the preseason still ahead, Hackenberg will have to sustain his challenge to unseat the veteran.

The Butte Fumble.

The only problem with that is if the franchise failed out there, as it probably would, they'd call it the Butte Fumble.

The Butte Fumble.
d%#*!@t.

She worked for the Jets, Browns and Dolphins and then went to work for a "drone racing league" (which, honestly, sounds made up) for a year. How does that track record lead someone to decide to create an EVP position for them at NFL HQ?

Troy toy?

Except than any win this season will be a negative. So maybe any loss should be considered lucky.

If you're rooting for your team to lose can you still be considered a fan? I don't think so, even if that team sucks as much as the Jests.

This is truly screwed up "thinking" and a manifestation of Jete fan suckage. NO WAY does losing "help" a struggling franchise. I don't care how desperate your Green Beans or their brain-dead fans are for a promising quarterback, fostering a losing culture in hopes it will lead to some draft-day messiah who magically "turns things around" is inherently counterproductive. Bad teams need to scratch, claw and fight for every morsel of success to build on. Sure, go ahead and pray for losses and mark your calendar for the 2018 draft. The joke inevitably will be on you.

Yup. Even this New York team knew that...

He's good at melting snowflakes.

I'm not sure which way you're going with that comment.

Snowflakes = the ice caps and he's screwing the environment
Or
Snowflakes = the typical joke Righties use to describe folks who've made it beyond 6th grade

It does take a little thought.

If it helps, try to think of it in relationship terms. Let's say a man and woman are "discussing" something and it's bordering on becoming an argument. The man is correct, as usual, but he decides to let it go before becoming an argument.

He loses the discussion, but wins big with some sexy-time and one less headache.

Sometimes ya gotta lose to win.

really?... you actually believe this sophistry?...take a tip from an old ,scarred war horse...

Things just go from bad to worse
Starts like a kiss and ends like a curse
But nothing's true, she said everything is permitted

Jets fans want to tank. Smh. The Jets will tank, but not on purpose my friend.

Whether it's on purpose or not, they just better get it done. They've dumped all of the higher priced vets (at least those who would have saved money against the cap) and are now on pace to have over 90mil free next season.

The ideal situation is that Hack does well enough to be the guy moving forward and we do win a bit while developing young guys. But I've only read one positive report on Hackenberg so far. While there have been a bunch of negative (though probably mostly speculation by the NY media looking for clicks).

We're gonna have a very young team with some experience and a crap-ton of cap space in 2018. Plus either a top draft pick, or a young QB who has earned the job.

Is this situation as good as going into the season as a legit playoff contender?.. no. But there is plenty of enjoyment to be had watching this young team rebuild correctly.

I'm really looking forward to this season. Even at 0-16, there'd be a ton to watch and keep track of.

Last season... now that sucked ass. Wasting money on useless players chasing mediocrity and failing miserably.

This thread has taken a dark turn. Time to be take a deep breath and show our gratitude for the Jets being the Jets:

Woody made a killing on PSL's. That sucks.

Goody went along and waived the long-standing rule on SB locations so the fans would lap up the PSL's. That sucks.

Woody is going to make another killing by not spending to the cap. That sucks.

The Jest are going to be in the hunt for 0-16. That sucks.

They share their stadium with another NYFL team. That sucks.

The Jest haven't won a thing in nearly a half century. That sucks.

Let's face it. Everything about them sucks.

That's the strategy that strikes fear in us Pats fans. If I were a Jets fan, I'd start an "All in on Hack" campaign to drive up fan support for the guy. Get the team management to see a correlation between attendance and Hack as QB. They'll make sure the coaching staff gives him a fighting chance, and then the team can spend next year's #1 on a wide receiver to catch his passes. WR will be a clear need by then because Hack's record setting low 2017 completion percentage will be blamed on the current crop of WR's.

This is the strategy that has us Pats fans secretly terrified.

What makes you believe it will be done "correctly"? They've botched it for the last 48 years (and counting). Nothing from the current coaching staff/front office/ownership suggests such capability.

Rationalization defined.

So what? Everything in the area is expensive.

Goody went along and waived the long-standing rule on SB locations so the fans would lap up the PSL's. That sucks.
It sucks NJ had a SB? I love the game being local and in the elements. It should keep trending that way. Instead of following the pattern of domes or nice weather. This is football, not beach volleyball.

Woody is going to make another killing by not spending to the cap. That sucks.
Not even the slightest worry Woody won't spend every dime in a year or two when the time is right. He's definitely not afraid to spend.

The Jest are going to be in the hunt for 0-16. That sucks.
Maybe for you.

They share their stadium with another NYFL team. That sucks.
See now this one has to be jealousy or you just can't comprehend having local NFL football every week. Every week of the NFL season we can go tailgate at the stadium, watch other games in the parking lot and of course see live football. You should really rethink this one.

The Jest haven't won a thing in nearly a half century. That sucks.
No different than most NFL teams. We should all become front runners.

Let's face it. Everything about them sucks.
I'm still waiting for one thing, let alone everything.
