Not so.
You keep saying this but a very good reason for NOT trading JAG now is if the Patriots do not have any decent trade offers. I do not believe they have been offered a #1 pick. If so, it's worth keeping a quality backup QB for insurance when your team is well staffed for a SB repeat.
Well that's thing thing, PWP, isn't it. I find it hard to beleive that after looking at the QB's who are coming out and knowing that NONE of them are ready to play in the NFL in 2017 if ever, and not think JG is worth their #1 pick.

Jon Fox risked his job that Mike f#ckng Glennon is better than any of this kids. So I am quite frankly aghast that none of these GM are smart enough to see that JG is WELL worth a first round pick and more. I am even more aghast to think that at least 3 of these teams will use their #1 to pick one of these kids who went from 2nd round grades to top 10 first round grades without playing a single game.

Is it any wonder the Pats dominate this collection of idiots despite the fact the structure is set up specifically so they shouldn't. If I needed a QB and had a pick, say, 10 down I'd be all over BB to put together a package that include that pick. Given the QB talent coming out, I'd think I got a steal. But that's me.

Here's a prediction. NONE of the HC's that pick a rookie QB in the first round tomorrow will be at their job after 3 seasons, regardless of how good or bad the kid ends up being.

Whether or not the Browns are willing to trade for Garoppolo, I think it is lunacy if they draft Trubisky with the first overall pick. Drafting a second round talent QB #1 overall just because he is the best QB available is stupid and usually ends up in failure.

What's wrong with a Yes or No answer, I got to think doubly hard now on my answer

Garrett is going 1

And assuming the Browns continue to be terrible and win the Sam Darnold lottery next year, do they go ahead and use the 1st overall pick on a QB two years in a row?

That would be SO Browns of them.

We will discuss trading JG EVERY TIME a quarterback is injured from now until the trading deadline. We will also discuss this every time there is any positive comment on Brissett.

Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL not named Tom Brady. To compare 90-minute Garoppolo to Rodgers is absurd.
I can't wait for the posts after Jimmy really is the starting QB and the Pats stop winning all these games. Maybe then some Pats' fans will realize how lucky the Pats were to have Brady and that he had more than a little bit to do with the amazing success of the Pats.

Note - the Pats will still be great, but I am fairly confident that Jimmy will never even approach the success of Brady. Think about this - aside from his injury in 2008, Brady hasn't missed the playoffs since 2002.
I just want to enjoy the last couple years of Brady greatness and see a couple more championships.

Who'd have thunk it?
Brady had "more than a little bit to do" with the Pats success?
I would never have thought of that in a million years.

I know I know.
Just sometimes when I read some of the posts it sounds like Brady is worthless and BB would have won the 5 SBs with anyone.
And just to clarify, I think Jimmy will be pretty good. But he will be much closer to Bledsoe than Brady (which isn't that bad) as far as success.

Not to worry. I chalked it up to a case of temporary pre- draft insanity.

What's really really scary is that 32% of posters polled say that JG will or will not "definitely" be on the Patriots after the draft.

With what it took the bears to move up 1 pick to get trubisky, I am convinced that there aren't enough picks in this draft to get garoppolo

I didn't even think it was that bad (couple of thirds and a fourth), myself. Remember what the Redskins gave up to the Rams to draft RG3? That was insane. I don't think we'll see anything like that again.

These teams are willing to give up major capital to get "their guy" on a fairly cheap, 5 yr pact. No one would give that up to pay someone top dollar. I can't even remember the last time anyone parted with 2 first rounders for an NFL player/non-draft pick.

Maybe we see Cleveland do it tonight for Kirk Cousins?

Now that we are 99% certain, Jimmy G is staying, and since we likely gonna tag him next year. Could we offset some of that tag money this year? Since we have around 23m left in the cap, if I'm not mistaken.

The money has to hit the cap next year, but they can carry over any leftover from this year.

It would seem extremly unlikely that Butler and Jimmy get traded now, still dont get why you are hanging onto Jimmy G though. You can tag one of those guys next year and it seems really stupid to let your #1 CB go so you tag your backup QB

Our number one cornerback is Stephen Gilmore.
