They supposedly have an offer on the table, but he isn't gonna "be the guy" even if he signs.
He thought he was gonna cash in on one miraculous year out of 10. He didn't, and won't because as you said, he was a product of the system. Old RB's who have career years doesn't mean anything other than you were in a great system.

Blount's season was more a product of a much improved o-line. I continue to get disappointed in him in the playoffs unless it's against the colts or something.

There's something to what you say, but he did have his best season, great at LEAST for him, and I think we have to concede that he had SOMETHING to do with his success. I do think he's "worth another go," the phrase I used. It's not as if I'm suggesting congress intervene and put him in the Hall of Fame by acclamation.

I think Bill might be thinking Burkhead can play special teams too. Bolden Style? Bolden might be gone. If he can contribute in the run game plus give on special teams Belichick might be willing to send Blount packing and pick up a young pounder

I wouldn't mind seeing Blount back at all, but if they can replace the tough yards with maybe a young guy and Rex who knows.

It will be interesting to watch, no rumblings RB wise so far except for the Burkhead signing.

Atlanta doesn't have a big bruising RB and that is plenty effective.

It is nice to have one but not needed.

We've got most of our bases covered and plenty of cap space. This is a pretty good time to go shopping for luxuries, and a real bona fide power running back would be a hell of a nice luxury to have, it would open a lot of plays that White, Floyd and Burkhead won't quite allow for.

"Power RB" aka RB over 240 is not a necessity.

I'm a fan, not a guy who plays a GM on a forum. Lynch is a jerk: I can't root for him. Blount seems like a good egg, he had a good season, and I'd like to see him back.

I have no problem with Blount back at RB. He moves the pile and jumps over people at 250 Lbs. No, he isn't the featured back. But wouldn't mind him coming in once in awhile.
