OT: RG3 "intrigued" by Jets

I'm hoping for a quarterback controversy between Cutler and Gee-No!

Look, we know the off-season is the favorite time of year for Green Beans fans, but don't get your hopes up. On second thought, yes -- get your hopes up.

Usually yeah, but not this season. The Pats and Giants are stealing the offseason thunder this year.

Seems the Jets are content to sit back, find bargains and potentially save some cap space this year.

Wrong and delusional.

The Jets are not "content" to sit back, find bargains and save cap space .

They are FORCED to do so because they screwed their cap. And they are FORCED to find bargains because there are so many holes in that roster.

You make it sound like this is some strategy that they are "content" to choose. No, your team cannot choose from the adult menu steak selections - - they screwed up for years and can only take the childrens menu.

ou're a decent Jet fan poster here, but your "content to..." statement is some A+ Prime Rib delusion. Enjoy your chicken nuggets. In a few years, if your team grows up, perhaps they can sit at the adult table.

We can disagree. They have like 35 million free now, and realistically like 50 million after you factor in other potential cuts/trades (Sheldon being one). More than enough to spend if they wanted to.

Think they're accepting a rebuilding year while allowing the youngin's to play and develop. No sense spending all your cap w/o a QB. Save it and prep instead.

Beats Canada I guess...

On second thought...

How many holes do you have to fill with that $35 million? How many holes do we have with our $36 million?

Anyone can have space.

It is the RATIO of Space vs. Need.

You can have no one on your roster and have $167 million in space.

A poor, single person with no family living in a gutter is lucky not to have the pressure of saving for a son or daughter's college education?

Jets could be a landing spot for Robert Griffin III

Dude must need a paycheck pretty bad. Or, maybe, he enjoys...

...a nice weenie roast.
please god make it so.

Ha ha. Hey why not? At least it'll be entertaining until Hackenberg is ready to play, or until we draft a QB in 2018.
Hackenberg "ready to play", lol.

If he were smart he'd go back to where he was successful

Rg3 please. Cutler is a prick and if he sucked while doing his "I don't care routine", the city will tear him apart.

At least rg3 seems like a cool guy.

Either way, it's a win for the rest of the AFC East.

Please please please, Sweet Baby Jesus make it so. If RGiii can make it in New Jersey he can make it anywhere.

Except Cleveland apparently.

Wouldn't that be the case every year since Vinny T retired?

The last two years for sure. But no, obviously not during the AFC championship game runs. Even with a mediocre Sanchez, the team was able to be a final 4 team. Including winning in NE in January.

Right. And instead of going out and plugging holes with expensive guys, we haven't spent anything. Instead choosing to plug the holes with younger/cheaper guys.

So far anyways. I'm sure some will be spent, but it's looking as though Macc will be carrying over a decent amount of cap space into 2018.

I almost don't want to respond as it sounds like sour grapes. And I know you're a loyal fan and not a troll. So I'll say off the bat congratulations for that victory in the playoffs. That Pats team was ok but no mental toughness They certainly should have won that game no doubt but its the NFL and any given Sunday. The killer is the Pats likely would have smoked the Squealers (again) the next week. I look at those Jet runs as really house of cards and it really put that franchise in the situation they are in now. They overspent for older established veterans but never had a true core. Revis in his prime certainly was outstanding, no doubt. So yes, they won 2 of their 4 playoff games both of those years and beat 2 legit teams (Indy at the time, and the Pats). If I remember correctly the other 2 games were against the Cincinnati Bun-holes (say no more) and the SD Chokers. But making it to that league championship game is an accomplishment ....especially for a team that hasn't sniffed a SB in 50 years. But to me it seemed like a rents-team situation. A quick plug and play approach with high priced vets . I feel that really hurt the Jets in the long run.

There's a difference between plugging a hole with a JAG and plugging a hole with QUALITY.

What you keep typing about is filling spots with bodies. Can't you see that it is all about the quality???

Honestly, I hope your FO thinks the very same way you type!

At worst I'd say those teams were a mix of home grown talent and FAs. The core of the teams were Mangold, Brick, Harris and Revis. All 4 drafted.

Sanchez was also obviously drafted.

So, sure there were a couple expensive FAs but they were role players instead of being the core of the team.

Though I suppose it helps to belittle an opponent's success. Hell, I do it all the time to NE and the Midgets.

OK, suppose we can revisit this after FA and the draft.

There is nothing to analyze after the FA and draft.

Around here, we analyze the season only after confetti falls on the Super Bowl field.

Sources say that RG3 is going to New York in search for rings...onion rings.
