Trade DA to a crap team that BB has a relationship with....ask for a conditional 7th that never vests.
....then...
If NE ever runs low on WRs during the year....trade for DA using a low pick.

The question is...Which team will be our farm team?
Cleveland? Soon to be our *****?
The Saints? They hate Goodell as much as NE does....Stick it to the man!!

BB is Marco Ramius:

"Goodell's (Moscow's) not the worry, neither is the Full 31 (whole Soviet navy). I know their tactics, I have the advantage. The worry is the coaches (Americans). If we meet the right sort, then this will work. We get some... buckaroo...?"

"Patriots (Comrades), our own division (fleet) doesn't know our full potential. They will do everything possible to test us; but they will only test their own embarassment. We will leave our division (fleet) behind, we will pass through the Goodell's (American) patrols, past their league inspections (sonar nets), and lay off their largest city, and listen to their cowardly talk radio (rock and roll)... while we conduct an air campaign (missile drills). Then, and when we are finished, the only sound they will hear is our laughter, while we sail to Boston (Havana), where the duck boat (sun )is warm, and so is the comradeship. A great day, comrades. We sail into history."

Love me some Hunt For Silver Lombardi.

If I hear the Full 31 yell, "Way to go, Dallas!" at the end of SB52 against the Pats, I'm e-punching you.

Regards,
Chris

Dude.

4 and 3 in the SB. Danny Amendola. 13 yards.
4th qtr drive with a minute left: Danny Amendola. 23 yards to get them to the 20.
Score 26-28 and need a 2 pt conversion: Danny Amendola. Gets it.

He does it all year long.

Clutch as ****. They trust the hell out of DA.

You call him a #5 but he is either number 1 or 2 in the "I need a F'ing clutch catch" category.

He is more valuable than Floyd. Floyd is gone.

Yes they will ask him to restructure his contract but he is not a JAG that we can simply dismiss as a number 5.

Let's not forget the catch in OT. Not anything spectacular but it kept the GD chains moving in a drive that needed to be perfect. AFAIC, DA doesn't have to do **** else to be known in Patriot lore for me. One of my all time favs.

Absolutely. And the TD pass to get within one score, and on and on. Really an unusual player, in that his catch totals in a season will be low and then he'll show up when absolutely needed.

Damn this team is loaded...gone are the days we wondered if this was the year Dobson breaks out. What an incredible "problem" to have.

I love the DA support group here. Clearly this group, along with the "Tag and keep JG in 2018", believe Belichick has entered a bizarro universe where $$$ is no longer a limitation. (except for Butler)
Soon to be #5 WR..........the 2016 #4 WR managed 23 catches (1.5/game) in the 2016 regular season.....Lets keep him at full salary, or knock a few hundred grand off (my personal favorite) because only DA makes the playoff catches?
I'm guessing the same faction believes Gronk is underpaid and deserves a bump in salary despite the slight inconvenience of rarely seeing the end of the season.....why not.....Bizarro BB is just givin it away.

DOLA at cheap 2 something million deal is value.
Why?
1. Squirrel injury
2. PUNT returns
Opponents will be doing LOTS of punting after we finish FA & the draft

It would be awesome if Danny agrees with you. That's the rub. We'll see.

Sometimes Dion Lewis will juke suddenly to the outside. Other times he'll spin move back to the inside.

We call it "Crazy Ivan Fears".

"Listen, I'm Roger Goodell which means I'm a cheat and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops. It also means I keep my options to punish the Pats open."

Guess We really took the thread off course

How many posters here have said "Belichick doesn't value the WR position like he does other positions" I think BB proved that statement to be incorrect with this trade. If BB likes the player, he is very aggressive

This thread is fake news.

Guess We really took the thread off course

"Captain, we've been sabotaged."

"You go with the men in the life rafts. The officers and I will submerge beneath you and scuttle the thread."

Chris

I hated Danny (the player) when he first got here, but he proved me wrong BIG TIME. He's a valuable player for us, but with his age, contract and signing of Cooks I can see why he might be odd man out especially if we can get Floyd back for dirt cheap. It's a logical move.

With the addition of Cooks, I can't see how the Pats keep Amendola at all. They have Edelman, Cooks, Mitchell, and Hogan ahead of him. Not to mention Gronkowski, Allen, White, and Lewis.

I can't see the Pats keeping Amendola when they can free up 6.4M by cutting him outright..

And yes.. I don't care for this deal because I feel the Pats gave up too much and I feel that having Cooks will cut into Mitchell's development since they have Hogan as well.
Personally I am against the release of any player who wears a "fire Goodell" hat to the victory parade.

Only if you can't be bothered to look at reality. Reality is that the Pats aren't going to pay a 5th receiver the kind of money that Amendola would require.. Being it 2.5M or $6M.
Amendola isn't a #5 WR. He is a slot WR who plays a specific role in the offense, and he is punt and kick returner.
