No when Godell Removed our HC, picks and our key players we had to pay for free high priced players to replace what was destroyed. It pretty much wrecked the team. Lumas was suspended and not allowed to talk to the saints, so we bought guys to fill the gaps. That created a cap hell that we are still dealing with bad signings. I agree that Malcolm is not the answer. So, so by farming only picks for D makes sense. I think, and you really got an amazing talent for the future. Cooks wont let you down, just give him slack first 1-3 games because hes on grass and the weather, but he will work out well.
Goodell is a douche

One tweet that Butler still could be traded and Saints fans seem to have come to the conclusion that there's a wink wink, nudge nudge deal that he's going to them as soon as he signs his tender. Which if you're Butler why take away the only leverage that you have?

Anyway, I don't think they tendered him at the 1st round level to take less for him later.
Not sure if it's an NFL rule but in the NBA you can't do deals like that. That's why the Celtics couldn't trade Doc Rivers and KG to the Clippers. Not sure if you can connect seperate deals.

That package swap a 3rd for a 4th would never have cost 32 to 18 in the first round which is the difference between our 32 and the Titans pick at 18. If the Titans offered that 18, then the Saints took less from us so far.

yeah - no idea. maybe the Titan rumor is just a rumor.

Cooks is well worth the price. He is a beastly player that will challenge defenses.

I wonder exactly what Atlanta expose. Are you forgetting we put almost 600 yds of offense on them DESPITE sucking in the first half. And all Houston exposed is we might need some OL help. How did this trade help us with that?
One one thing was speed in the WRs corps. That won't be a problem with this guy. I watched a highlight video of him, he flat out runs away from DBs. Running those WRs screens, he gets the tiniest crease, he's gone.

FWIW, whomever this person is....they nailed it.

Yeah, but, Brandon Cooks rumors have been swirling for like a week (for example, on 3/5, PFT ran an article saying "Saints turn down 32nd overall pick for Cooks"). Their first mention of Cooks was yesterday (3/9). It doesn't really sound like they "scooped" anything, it just sounds like the regurgitated other rumors that were floating around.

Cooks basicly has the the same system in NO that NE has, I dont expect the trasition to be that hard. Id be more worried about him getting used to the weather lol. Hes a machine, and truthfully I think hes better than julio jones falcons. He has a very good RB ability after the ball and doesnt play around, his head goes strait up field if you watch him and he runs for his life. Not like you see showboaters do. Look on youtube, youll see what I mean.
Im glad he found the best home. He's going to be a favorite in NE. Good Kid.
Come on, I love Cooks, but he's not better than Julio Jones.

Well I did a full mock recently and it is my guess no one falls to 32 that is great value. It is unlikely anyone is there that I would be overly excited about (Hoping for Haasen Reddick or one of the top 3 CB IMO or top 4 DEs. Unlikely any of those things happen as of now it seems).

This in mind would have liked us to trade down from 32 if it plays out like I project so I don't think there was great value there so not bad.

Allen flipped off deflategate and seems to have the perfect Pats attitude of JUST WIN.

Ealy praised the Pats and didn't give up on them in the Superbowl.

Cooks is the extra-worker the pats covet.

Here's hoping they've all found a long-term home.

Looks like the pats are gonna stay home on draft day 1. Lol.

Well maybe BB doesn't like waiting all day and picking leftovers at the end of the round.

Also, there are rumors with the theft of the Pats 1st round pick last year, BB stayed home and had more time to help Linda with her, award winning, antique roses.

BB loved the experience so much he has decided to win the Superbowl every year and trade out of the 1st round.

Damn I hate giving up that first round pick. If we keep High and Butler tho damn son.

Now that you mention it...

Belichick pre-Linda era: Defense wins championships
Belichick Linda era: Unleash Tom Brady

After letting it sink in I came to this conclusion. I like this a lot more i we DON'T trade Butler. First off I doubt we can get a first for him. a 1 year player you need to franchise is generally not worth a first no matter how good. I think if they manage things right they will have a very loaded complete team and be the favorite by a good deal if the keep Butler. If not they are likely still the favorite but not as much.

I think if you trade Butler and lose you will always regret it. I would rather keep Butler this year. Franchise him next year (if you really need to or let him walk) and go for #6. The AFC will likely be weak again. I don't believe in Romo to stay healthy and the Raiders have a lot of catching up to do compared to the Pats.

I think we walk into the super bowl again most likely in the AFC and have a good shot to win it. I would hate if they didn't do everything they could to win #6.
