Basically you're trading an undrafted guy for a top 10 first round pick who's been very productive in the NFL. This speaks volumes about Belichick and co's ability to develop guys and trade them for high end talent.

Ok, but Tennessee or another team would have to give up something significant in return for Cooks. We have butler as a bargaining chip now that Gilmore was signed. Not many teams have this kind of asset they would be willing to part with, particularly on defense. Like Schefter says, Cooks coming to NE makes the most sense.

I thought Dwayne Allen stinks in Indy and think he stinks now.

Do you guys think this trade is gonna happen? A little surprising how it was floated more than 10 hours ago but they haven't pulled the trigger. Usually doesn't take that long for BB to pull something together.

Wonder if floating it is just leverage against Butler, or seeing if other teams can come up with a better offer?

Yeah and Belichick is great at what he does if he wants to swap Gilmore for Butler then it'll probably end up being a upgrade but i was just talking about the needless smear campaign on the way out that will happen like it did with Collins, not really any need for it.
