Pats considering Butler trade to Saints for Brandin Cooks

Don't want them to trade Butler, although the Gilmore signing makes me feel that Butler may indeed have played his last game here. Don't want it to be the case but either by trade or FA it might just happen.

Wondering if the money differential is just too great and negotiations are at a standstill and they want to get something for Butler.

Ok show me where is ridiculed you for this proposal? I've done it plenty of other times because you post nonsense constantly.

Exactly.

I ridiculed this idea.

And I will give him my heartfelt apology if something more material (i.e. it ACTUALLY happens?) occurs other than someone named "Diana Russini" tweets it. Right now @ChrisR2223 is an Atlanta Falcon measuring his ring size in the 3rd quarter......except the Falcons actually had a REAL SCORE as evidence.

Cooks may be a fine (albeit, unpopular with his teammates) player.

He is simply not needed here for that cost.

I am ambivalent about this now that Gilmore is here

straight up you get 1 year of butler vs 2 years of cooks

Gilmore is younger than Butler

Downside is Cooks needs paid in 1 year and will want huge money which the Pats won't pay

So it'll be Butler for 1 year of Cooks and a 3rd round comp pick in 2 years.

You'll be loving Cooks watching him play with Brady.
As Brady ages. an elite WR could be very useful in helping him keep putting up great numbers. I have nothing against Hogan and Mitchell, but Cooks is at another level and beefing up the WR corps and opening up the outside may become very important if Brady loses a bit off his fastball in the inside game.

Is he Jerry Rice? If not no WR is worth that.
Would not give up a high pick unless we also had a pick returned to us that isn't too much further down from the one we surrender.

Butler and a pick for only Cooks? Forget about it.

Butler and #32 for Cooks and a 2nd rounder? I might be able to swallow that.

It be 1.5M this year and 8.5M next year on the 5th year option. At least it be 2 years.

Saints ain't getting nothing. Butler for cooks's a fair deal. Saints can keep him. Go after another wr.

I believe the actuals being tossed around is Butler + 1st rounder for Cooks plus 2nd rounder
But if that tweet's accurate, NO wants multiple picks over multiple years. I can't see BB getting fleeced like that for someone he doesn't even need.
