But if that tweet's accurate, NO wants multiple picks over multiple years. I can't see BB getting fleeced like that for someone he doesn't even need.

nor do I.......can't tell if that statement was made prior to the Butler Cooks rumor

The Pats typically don't get fleeced by other teams

Payton has BB over a barrel right now unfortunately.
I wouldnt be shocked to see Chung or Nink involved in this trade as well

I believe the actuals being tossed around is Butler + 1st rounder for Cooks plus 2nd rounder

I think that was Ryan Hannable spitballing. Butler for Cooks straight up seems like a clear win for NO to me, though.

Like we didnt pay Gilmore?

IDK if we pay cooks after those years or not. Who knows. They may and may not but they have a history of not paying WR much with the one exception being prime Randy Moss

If the Pats are trading Butler to New Orleans for Cooks, there better be another draft pick coming back the Pats' way and I am thinking a second day one.

Seems like a weird deal. I would think that we should be satisfied for now with Edelman, Hogan and Mitchell, Gronk and Allen at tight ends and two of the better receiving backs in the league in White and Lewis. Not everyone is going to get the ball, especially someone who thinks they are a No. 1 in Cooks.

the good news now is that the pats are in a win win situation.....they will either have a lights out secondary or a lights our WR group

either will be fun to watch and there's no need to complain unless the pats give up too much draft stock

Naw you need that depth just in case someone goes down.

Who says Cooks isn't needed? Julian isn't getting younger, Amendola's future is murky. Cooks can be our future standout in the receiving core. He'd be damn good here.

BB must of got into Madden first Butler and a first for Cooks
Next hes trading Grap or Brady for Hopkins
Lets hope he remembers to turn the salary cap off in Framchise mode.

What happened to the old New england Patriots. The ones who paid their own players when they did everything right and improve each season.
