I don't know how much he has left in the tank, but it will be interesting to see what he gets in the open market.

I doubt the Patriots will kick his tires, because of the child abuse.

Not saying they should go out of their way to sign him, but if they don't, then this won't (nor should it be) the reason.

Was that child abuse? My mum hit me worse than that. (i'm adding that this is not a joke. Just normal for me growing up in my community).

Anyway, it's more whether he'd take 2-3m a year. I'm sure some other team will pay him more though.

This really depends on what he wants. If the price is right, this could be something similar to the Corey Dillon trade in terms of impact to the team and would make NE even more multi-dimensional. It's a no brainer to me if the $ line up. I don't know if his legal issue would be an issue in this case.

He should sign a 1 year prove it deal, but teams my fall in love with the name and give him a multi year deal for too much money.

Wow. Not sure what to say to that. The kid was 4 years old.

Beating your 4 year old with a switch and leaving large gashes all over him. yeah, thats child abuse.

I don't condone it and i'd never do it. But growing up in my community, it was the norm.

Caning also normal in school when I was growing up. Not saying it's ok. Just normal for me.

Look, I'm sorry you had to experience it and you're a good guy and I won't pursue it.

But......4.....years......old.......

I guess it's an offense only if the victim was an adult?

.

I think he is toast, would rather spend that kind of money in Mangold and running with jags or rookies.

The Pats should do a similar approach on this draft like they did in the year they drafted Ridley and Vereen.

@GIFScouting
I mean, AP led the league in rushing in 2015 behind a bad o-line... played 1.5 games in 2016 behind the WORST o-line. Don't count him out.

His stats with a FB are absurd. Pats use a FB the 2nd most of any team in the NFL. Regardless how you feel about him he's a great fit here on the field.

I understand discipline and all, but what he did to that 4 year old kid is just awful!!!
Growing up I got my ass kicked by my dad, but he never used any tools, always hit me on the back or butt. But yeah that looks awful especially with them scars.

He would be a "great fit here on the field" if there was a need at that position.

Blount/Lewis/White. Peterson would be an expensive 3rd nipple.

I'll think about holding my nose for child abusers at LB and backup TE.

(Not)

Yawn. He wants Cowboys, they want him it looks like. He's on the wrong side of 30 with injury history. He's not what he was.

Agree to disagree.

Justifying it as "I just took a switch to my boy, that's what we do in our community" is like saying "I just spanked my boy, that's what my parents did with me" when your kid ends up with a lacerated liver and broken arm. Not all cases are the same.

He clearly went way the F over the deep end into hard-core abuse territory. He didn't just give him a couple of swats with a switch. A ridiculously strong guy that could beat the **** out of anyone on this forum went to town with dozens of blood-drawing hits with a stick on his son, who was just four. Whatever his intent was, something was wrong in his head. My kid is six, and I can't imagine going to town on her like that now, much less when she was four. He seriously either has a totally distorted sense of right and wrong and justice, or anger management issues, or something.

Even if his kid is a stubborn little brat, to AP I'd say "You're doing it wrong." And I'm not one of those judgmental parents. I pretty much don't care how you parent as long as you aren't abusing your kids. Free range, helicopter, whatever. Give them candy bars for dinner? F it I don't care I'm not gonna judge you b/c I know how hard it is to be a parent. I don't know your situation or what your kid is like or what happened to you today, so have at it. Do your thing. But I do draw the line at abuse. It's at that point that I'll be happy to judge you.

Is this relevant for football? Has he changed? That's for BB to decide. BB has a formula that works and I trust him to apply it.
