With 50-60 million in cap room, BB could go for the quantity value approach in FA...especially if he does not resign Hightower (which I hope he does, because there are no great replacements for his position in FA).

It would be great if the Pats could use some of the cap room they have to more fairly pay some of their bargains who have been great soldiers...for example, Edelman is severely underpaid for his performance and leadership

Possible value adds:

Nick Fairly DT
Jared Odrick DT
DJ Swearinger SS
Chance Warmack G
JC Tretter C
Andre Branch DE
John Simon OLB
Jack Doyle TE
Chris Baker DE
Nolan Carroll CB

Fairly, Branch, and Doyle would be nice additions and would be quite good fits for the Pats in Positions where they have to do something in the offseason.

Has Cook been cut by Green Bay?

I've been a big fan of Chris Baker. I also think Bennie Logan DT from Philly is very good. I would think John Simon would fit in. I would like to see them make an offer to Kiko Alonso, he is restricted. Jared Cook would be good also. There are some players out there that might be in the Pats financial targets that could be contributors. I would especially like to see at least one other potential starting LB. I think that is where we are most vulnerable. Of course by next year at this time, BB will have figured out how to make Roberts, Van Noy, McClellin and Mingo into world beaters.

DJ Swearinger is Meriweather 2.0.(Actually even worse) Stay the hell away from that!

I don't think we have a chance of getting Cook. Rodgers publicly said Cook is a priority to re-sign pressuring the front office to do so. Cook will get priced out of the bargain range.

I agree with the linebacker situation. If we can retain Hightower and get another starting caliber LB trough free agency we can let the young guys in Roberts, Mingo and Van Noy groom behind them and use them as rotational players. Kiko Alonso would be nice, but i dont know how high the tender is.

Mingo is a UFA who isn't likely to be re-signed

Live in Philly love Logan
Simon is a good idea
I want Zach Brown from the Bills but he wont be cheap amazing player.
Cook vs Doyle Ill take Cook please i think BB called him one of the best Tightends.
Any interest in Alteran Verner or Sam Shields?

Why Zach Brown? Yuck.
Verner is awful.

Value guys?

Karl Klug. We can afford to wait on him to be healthy. I don't get the feeling we will see many value guys this year.
