All humor aside, this pretty much sums up why so many fans outside of New England hate the Patriots. The Pats keep destroying whatever faded glory those fans continue to cling on to (even if it happened before they were born).

That obviously is difficult for many to accept, whether it be fans of a franchise (Niners, Steelers, Packers, Cowboys, Raiders, Dolphins, etc) or a player (Montana, Manning, etc). Same goes for those that were denied a day in the sun (fans of Rams, Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks and any of the 15 other AFC teams) because the Patriots so often shoot down those dreams and aspirations like a cold blooded assassin.

And then the Patriots crushed their soul by ending their dynasty before it had a chance to begin. To rub salt in the wound the canceled celebration quickly deteriorated into endless abysmal performances, punctuated by an awkward divorce from St. Louis.


Yes he is a player rather than a fan, but Marshall Faulk is Exhibit A of the debilitating effects to the psyche that losing to the Patriots has on someone. These people are simply unable to accept the reality that the Pats' whole is greater than the sum of its parts, capable of defeating opponents loaded with big name players and fantasy football studs.
