New England Trades Gronkowski and QB Jimmy Garoppolo to the Cleveland Browns for TE Gary Barnidge, Both of Cleveland’s 2017 First Round Picks (No. 1 and No. 12), 2017 Third Round Pick, 2018 Second Round Pick, and 2018 Fourth Round Pick

The Patriots Should Trade Gronk This Offseason

No, Gronk is an all-time great TE and Bennett likely walks this year. Even if he stays, Gronk is such a critical part of the offense that a first-round pick doesn't quite do it for me. I think instead, the Patriots need to tone down how much they run Gronk into the ground and turn it up later in the season. Yea, it sounds like an entitled thing to say but the Pats are making the playoffs with or without Gronk. How far they go could rely heavily on his status (regardless of this year's results)

OK. Really though? The number 1 pick and the number 12 pick, on rookie deals?
EDIT: I was more expecting to hear from people that Cleveland would never be that stupid.

Why do you guys badly want to get rid of Gronk? We just barely won the Super Bowl and could get back the best recieveing threat in the league...

I just don't see any first-round talents that are worth trading away the greatest TE (and possibly/arguably greatest weapon?) of all-time in the twilight of Tom Brady's career. Maximize your chances to win the Super Bowl again and again through the next 3-5 years and keep him and take better care of him

OK, I will try some reasons..

First,
1.) Cleveland would never do it, because it would be HUGELY better move by us than them.
2.) Gronk is always injurred
3.) Defense wins championships
4.) Two high first pics builds this team up for the future, probably two awesome defensive players
5.) We and 49 other teams have won the Super Bowl without Gronk

Honestly, I think this would be an obvious huge win for the Pats if this trade happened.

Here is the thing : NE is not in rebuilding mode. They can win in 2017 without a 1st rounder. See 2016.

Gronk is injured. He has been injured in the past. But, a draft pick is a risk. Gronk is "a risk" for injury only. We KNOW he is a dominant force that knows the system & fits in. Why roll the dice to get something we already have ?

JG : highest bidder. Unless Brady plans to call it quits after next season (highly unlikely), it is better for the team to trust the current HoFer's health & determination while cashing in on picks for the back up.

Defense wins championships I keep hearing. And the Draft has some deep stellar defensive players I keep reading.

Nooooooooo

Gronk is a special player, let him get healthy. I don't even care if he starts next season on the PUP list. Just have him in game shape by the playoffs.

OK. So you would not trade Gronk and JAG for the 1 and 12 pic? correct?

Yeah but we're unstoppable when he is healthy.

There have been very few players that I 100% want to play their entire careers and retire as a Patriot. Gronk is one of them. I know it's probably unrealistic that he stays his entire career, but I hope he does. I don't want to see him in another uniform.

Without a moment's hesitation.

It's not dumb for Cleveland if the GM thinks he's close to getting fired. Can't recall their situation though.

Just glad we have professionals and picks aren't fan consensus decisions.

Just stop with the Gronk trade stuff
