This is the mess that Goodell created. From the overblown Spygate scandal (still struggle understanding how you can "spy" out in front of 70,000 people) to the equally bogus Bountygate (The NFL's reaction to injury litigation) to of course the scientifically illiterate deflategate frame job the NFL seems to be on a mission to call into question the integrity of its own league. It truly baffles me why anyone would want to create the narrative that their product is bogus and that there is cheating going on especially when all of these alleged "practices" have been going on since the league began. I do not consider any of the alleged transgressions in the past 10 years significant and a simple fine/admonishment would have been fine with me. When I was a kid this type of "gamesmanship" was actually revered somewhat (Red Auerbach) Unfortunately Goodell created this so all Pats/Saints and any other fair minded NFL fans are now in the midst of a perpetual tit for tat war. It still stuns me that someone (60 minutes, 20/20, ESPN) does not do a show on the blatant corruption of Goodell and the media over the BS propaganda they started. But then again, the "Patriots Cheat" is a cottage industry and results in clicks so why do anything about it.
