We are On To Atlanta....

Atlanta is not the same team away from their own dome. They aren't a "tough" team either I wouldn't say. I really like our chances, need to start hot.

Whats the best D atlanta faced all year?

they're in for a rude awakening

Atlanta's D gave up 10 more PPG than the Pats.

Not that it matters at this point, but Atlanta @ NE is scheduled for next year; if the Pats can pull off the victory in the Super Bowl, especially if it's close, I think that's your 2017 opening night matchup.

Brady is gonna have to be flawless in this game. We are likely looking at having to score at minimum 40 points. My guess is the Falcons take away Edelman. Hogan, Mitchell, Floyd will be huge. This is going to be a monumental task like they've never faced.

L.T and Deion have Atlanta winning by ten.

Vegas has the Pats favored by 3.

BB is going to contain Atlanta I have no doubt. This defense is stingy as hell and I know we can hold them to field goals multiple times.

So NOW you jump on the bandwagon. Are you still making **** up?

Replay of ATL game is on NFLN now.

Packers had that blown FB coverage on 1st drive that made it easy for ATL to get to the 5. Defensive line of GB was moving the LOS but never got to Ryan.

ATL brought a delayed A gap blitz that ended the Pack opening drive.

Next drive by ATL: false start, 3yd run. GB brings a 2 man rush and still gives up a first down to Sanu out route.

Short pass to TE, TFL loss by packers on run.
Pack completely blow coverage on a TE split out and then missed tackle (wow bad D). Could have got to Ryan had they covered.

Ryan rolls out for corner route to Sanu (pats should be able to set the edge and stop that).

Clay Matthews way out of position covering Coleman out of the backfield, first down.
Sanu runs a QB read option. Well blocked.
Sanu fade route, poor throw by Ryan.
2nd false start by ATL ol.
Julio in the slot 5 wide. Packers zone and force an incompletion (holding declined on ATL OL).

GB next possession:
-Rodgers settles for a quick dig and falcons are fast to tackle for 2yd gain (looked like SEA defense allowing that and then hitting quick).
-Falcons bring corner blitz and Rodgers hits Cobb across middle vs man.
-Rodgers good for 22 after he rolls out. ATL right side brought pressure but left side did not contain
-Running play pretty well blocked but Montgomery poor run.
-another delayed LB blitz and Rodgers gets it to Michael but dances and doesn't make ATL pay
-ATL brings 5 (lots of pressure) and AR hits cook for first down.
-huge GB run up the gut from the shotgun as pack driving and then the game changing fumble inside the 10.

Common theme I see is ATL bringing a variety of pressures with a mix of man and zone. I think we can make them pay with white and Dion as opposed to PIT playing zone all night.

I like our odds because we have a solid defense, GB had just bad injuries and their defense just sucked, Atlanta beat some of these teams that truly had decimated defenses. If we can score against defenses like Houston and Denver then I see us have no problems against those guys. It will come down to the defense that is able to get the most stops.

Our defense consistently pressured the middle and Ben was very uncomfortable in the pocket because of the pass rush our defensive ends were able to generated.

Julio and Freeman/Coleman will

Yep, ATL is a man to man defense. Meaning Lewis/White should be featured in the short passing game out of the backfield. ATL also had success against GB because ARod runs a vertical offense moreso than our dink and dunk (which isn't even that anymore given how we've made a lot of long pass plays in the last couple of playoff games).

I'm more concerned with how to slow down their offense. Ryan while primarily a pocket passer has really stepped it up to an elite level this year in every aspect of his game. He's a little more mobile than TB but not by much, perhaps better straight line speed from what I can see. He's also less accurate in the short passing game than TB, but throws a rocket of a deep ball with Julio on the receiving end normally.

Slow down Freeman/Coleman (especially if they are receiving out of the backfield) and double up on Julio. Pressure up the gut against Ryan should go a long way in taking them out of their comfort zone. That should the main game plan in defending their versatile offense.

ATL drive:
-17 to Julio across the middle, was zone coverage.
-PA and Ryan hit as he throws but gets it to Julio kills the corner despite safety help on out route.
-toss to freeman for 4
-dig route to Sanu for 6 (1st down)
-Freeman straight ahead for no gain (ATL middle of OL pushed back once again). Mack (C) hurt on play. Will return 2 plays later.
-pack get pressure again but Ryan gets it to Julio on crosser but drops it
-3rd down, complete breakdown with a insane release given to Julio, 1st down
-PA rolloutby Ryan and no one open. Throw away
-packers rush gets collapsed and Matty takes off for the TD run untouched. Defense is LOL. We may not record a lot of sacks but we don't usually completely blow a play from the DL to the LBers.

Both false starts were by Levitre (67). If you are getting false starts at home something has gone very wrong. He might be someone to line up a crafty vet in front of to try to get him to jump.

I gotta sleep, but this first half showcased the 2nd/3rd stringers GB had to play in the secondary. Falcons will score on us but this is painful to watch as a secondary guy myself. We won't give it up that easy.

The Patriots do not give up big plays. The short passing game is all that they usually offer to a QB, so if that is the weakest part of his game then this game is over before it starts.

No worries on offense. We need solid special teams play which is almost a gimme, and we need to win in the red zone on defense. 3rd down red zone plays are 4 point plays which we absolutely mauled PIT with today. As long as we contain big plays and force them to earn every red zone attempt we will take home #5.

Denver (who they beat by a TD). Coleman went off for 132 receiving yards in that game.

New England has the best defense in the league and an offense equal to the Falcons'.

Pats will win this game, comfortably I believe.

I'm not even gonna stress........yet.
