Awesome moment from Inside the NFL tonight..

People often talked about how Pink Head was the master of changing the play before the snap and that he was "his own offensive coordinator." I think a lot of that came from all the histronics that he would go through before the snap. I've read though that most of those were for show and just to incite confusion, or to manage the clock a bit, or something. However it was successful for his image, since due to the amount of shouting Peyton would do, he is often regarded by the general public / media as being the best ever at understanding the defense before the snap (and significantly better than Brady).

I think that's unfortunate because I think the ability to read defenses is what makes Brady the GOAT and he doesn't get as much credit as Peyton, since he hasn't made that his schtick. He is a lot more subtle about it. He does it with little waves and nods to his receivers (who also have to be on the same page and see the same things). It's good to see videos like this and also read Steve Smith's comments.

Yep. That's always been the case with Brady, though. He's the GOAT against the blitz. The only hope the opposing defense has of slowing him down is to do what the Giants used to do and what the Jets did in 2010: generate pressure with 3-4 rushers while dropping the rest into coverage. But that's the recipe to defeat any good quarterback.
we should have ran the ball in those games

Truly disappointing that Gronk is not available but you could be "glass half full" about it and say that his absence has caused Brady to really flesh out his rapport with his receivers and McDaniels to gameplan to feature those receivers, leading to the versatile offense we now see.

IMO, next year should be interesting, now that Brady has this time to build up his connections with his WRs, and then you get to add Gronk back in.
need to win it this year, for next year to be truly interesting. Imagine defending champs coming off 17-2 year, with perhaps extra picks, plus a talent like Gronk coming back added to a defending champion.

Imagine Brady won the next 3 Super Bowls.. lmao.. I think people would get shot.

whoa, slow down there cowboy.

one game at a time.

I know I am just saying I think the NFL would ban the Patriots. The Chiefs and the Cowboys/Packers is gonna be 2 tough games to get my 3 peat started lol.

Pre snap reads by guys like Brady, Brees and manning are much more advanced from the rest of the nfl.

What these guys get accomplished at the line of scrimmage is amazing.

Th sad thing is these new spread offense qb's (i.e.: goff) have zero chance to succeed early because they are coming out of college without ever having to take a snap under center, only know how to read a safety and can not call protections to save their life.

I don't have the clip yet, but it was during the Pats/Dolphins highlights. The guy who is either the Miami D-line or defensive coordinator talking to the guys. He has a print copy of a play in his hands and he says incredulously,

"He's calling the correct protections every f-ing time!"

TB is a god.

Edit: changed my mistake on the coach. Thanks @DarrylS!
Im pretty sure its Jim Washburn, his job title is senior defensive assistant and pass rush specialist.

I have no idea who is better at pre snap reads. But what I found amusing last night watching the NFLN and they were going over the Denver Broncos season.. It was impossible to mask how much Peyton sucked. He is so lucky he got to go out on top with that terrible performance. But no one really gives him credit for the Super Bowl win anyway.

Hehe nut job Colt fan loyalists think Manning was the reason they won last year, with ridiculous statements like "Manning's stats may not have been great, but he elevated everyone else on that offense!"

His year last year was TERRIBLE, the only person who had a worse passer rating I think was one of the Texans garbage QBs

Anyone with even a single brain cell functioning knows Manning was taking HGH, not his pregnant wife... its just so funny how the world works, the media etc.. they absolutely adore and idolize Manning, even when he sucks, and went out of their way to slide the HGH thing under the rug when there was a mountain of evidence against him. .. they completely kept it hush hush for months while they conducted an "investigation" and then they come out and say "he fully cooperated and cleared himself, nothing to see here" and everyone treats him like a saint

So you have a sexual assaulter who actually cheats at football with performance enhancers be praised, idolized and protected...

Then you have a guy like Brady that has clawed his way through college and the pros, competing and earning everything he's ever achieved, who handles himself as well as you ever could for such a high profile athlete and epitomizes class.. and the media and league will literally CREATE scandals to try and ruin his legacy and destroy the Patriots

This world is so F'ed up

Damn...that cheerleader in the opening scenes was FINE!!!!!! Good lord have mercy *whew*

With the jet flying overhead? The clip says that I can't stream it except on YouTube

It's driving me crazy trying to find this episode online. Whether it's via official or "unofficial" means.

edit: Just found it in this thread.

Wasn't there a Dolphins player that called the Pats O line classless a few
years back? His complaint was they would call a run and then run at him.

I agree it is film work and nutrition I would not do. However, I expect morons to start whispering steroids because he's old yet good.

I actually get a little nervous that he'll take some natural supplement that Alex Guerrero thinks is OK, but will turn out to be on the banned list under a different name. I hope they know what they're doing at TB12 headquarters!

Really? Your really concerned about that? If Brady is taking anything that his helping him stay at the top of his game.. Its probably either something that isn't tested for or its just not known about. There is no way he would take a ban substance or if he is taking a banned substance it is not detectable like HGH for example. There is no chance.. zero % that Brady would risk getting caught with a banned substance.. it would be all over the news and unlike Manning with the HGH accusations this would cause out rage and forever tarnish Brady's reputation.. People just want to go after Brady because of all the wins and jealousy factors.

He's not taking anything illegal or undetectable. The guy is renowned for his obsessive dedication to his diet, sleep schedule, film study and his non-traditional workout regiment.

I wish I had that kind of dedication but I love steak and pasta too much. Oh yeah and I can't imagine a world without strawberries.
