Breer: Rams, Jaguars, 49ers have reached out to show interest in Patriots OC Josh McDaniels.

Rams are a mess unless you love Goff. OL is bad. WR are bad. Top D drafted with RG3 picks getting to end of (cheap) first contracts. #1 and #3 gone this year in Goff trade.
I think Goff has potential, he needs an OL and WR bad though like you said. They are going to ruin Goff mentally and physically if they don't do something soon.

Why would he want to inherit dumpster fires like those?

Goff has potential but a long way to go with little help. That's a tough job to walk into, understanding most teams looking for a new HC have issues. Is Goff the hard working student of the game that Josh is used to? That's the question.

Are we thinking that whomever Josh goes to as HC will be our Jimmy G. trading partner?
It's not a given but it would benefit Josh McD to take Jimmy G with him as he is already familiar with his style of offense.

He should go to a place where he is allowed to buy the groceries

Hope Jeff Fisher didn't hurt his work ethic lol.

My prediction: Josh once again spurns all these opportunities and re-ups for another year with the Patriots.
Obviously, if his internal head-coach clock is ticking super fast and tells him now's the time, he's going to leave after this season. I just think he's super happy with his situation in New England and knows that as long as BB and TB are with him here, unlike a lot of coordinators whose candidacy goes hot and cold from year to year depending on how their team does, Josh can essentially pick his jumping off year/situation.

I would love to hear the Pats announce that any team requesting permission to interview Pats' personnel will be denied permission if they were involved in Defamegate or CameraPlacementGate unless they first give the Pats their 1st and 4th draft picks.

It's funny how they come crawling after our guys. Hypocrites!

If we win the Superbowl is there any chance at all BB retires?

Could The Patriots give Mcdaniels and Patricia ridiculous pay pumps to keep them happy here?
Any reason we cant pay them like head coaches?

If they want to be HC, nothing we can do. With Detroit losing their last three, unless they have a surprise win @Seattle (which could happen as Seattle is struggling without Thomas) I expect Patricia to go there.

Even if Kraft had the balls to try something like that (hint - he doesn't), teams are not allowed to block interviews for upward moves.

He isnt choosing the teams are.

Yes but he has the last word. I think the rams and 49ers are not good options for him. Maybe if the lions job would open up for him.

IDK, a couple things in Jacksonville's favor:

  • The cost of living is really high in LA and San Fran while the cost of living in Jacksonville is nothing
  • No income tax in Florida and it is high in Cali.

C'mon. Cost of living vs MA. It's higher than MA but at making several 7 figures it is a non-factor.

If he is offered a job he should take it.
His long range success will be based in his ability more than what he inherits.

I qualify that by saying I would understand turning down a job if ownership will not be supportive of winning or if there is a GM in place that has a philosophical divide.

Most of the best coaches in NFL history took over bad teams lacking talent.
