Sorry if this was posted in another thread, hadn't seen it anywhere and felt it deserved it's own topic.

Michael Floyd credits Jacoby Brissett for working OT to help his transition

"He comes in early for me, or after practice and afternoons. We walk through some stuff. Maybe I had a question from today's practice, or what's going on tomorrow. We're making sure we can get all that we can get in," Floyd said, also mentioning position coach Chad O'Shea for assisting his transition.

The public acknowledgement of Brissett once again highlights how the third-round draft choice out of NC State has earned the respect of many in the Patriots organization in a short time.

Brissett obviously has a long way to go before we can even consider if he's capable of filling the shoes of the GOAT QB. But I love this kid, the intangibles, the attitude, and the way he handles everything.

Impressive work ethic. I know Parcells has said that about him...BB must love it.

What connection does Parcells have with him?

Tuna played golf in FL at the club where Brissett's HS coach's father in law is the pro. He'd show up at practices, just started talking to JB and has been in his corner advising him ever since.

Parcells has a winter home in Jupiter FL, and was an advisor/observer to the powerhouse football program at Dwyer HS in Palm Beach Gardens (directly adjacent to Jupiter). I live in the Dwyer district. JB played there.

Sorry phone was glitching out. :O

Let's hope it has paid off for floyd this sunday. I like brissett. Hope he keep's learning

Its such a great story. Talk about having a hell of a guy to lean on for advice about the world of football.

Working overtime?

Wouldn't be surprised if he's our guy in a few years.

I went to the Texans game. Needless to say, it was a little disheartening to think I had spent all that money and traveled so far just to see a rookie third-string QB play.

But, as I watched Brissette pre-game, I started to become a little more optimistic. The young man seemed so confident and professional. You could tell by how the veteran players interacted with him that they sincerely believed they could win with him and that the moment was not too big for him. It was quite impressive.

Then, once the game started Brissette broke off his Grogan-esque TD and made some really good passes including an opposite hash sideline pass which was a thing of beauty. All the while he was in control of the huddle and team. Even after big Vince fell on him.

This was before I watched him tough out a game with a torn up thumb, saw the Patriots unprecedentedly bring him on the road while on IR, and activate him from IR to be the backup to the backup. I left Gillette after that Texan game believing the Pats 3rd round QB had IT. That undefinable quality that many of us first noticed in the GOAT. The Patriots actions since that night and stories like the work he's doing with Michael Floyd, make me believe BB and the Pats think he has IT too.

I think that shows great leadership ability by Brissett. Also, as Belichick said, Brissett becomes more efficient in learning the offense by teaching it. A win/win all around.

When we conducted training while I was in the Navy we always felt that the person presenting the training learned the most.

Kid has one thing both bills cherish, the love of the game.

BBs reason for activating him was to have another layer of insurance at the QB position but there is no question he really likes this kid, his game and feels he has enough value to the team to warrant a spot on the 53.

He is carrying his weight no question.

Saw that this morning and that's good. With Mitchell doubtful, it's good to know Floyd is getting up to speed. Hopefully get in a good number of reps in Miami.
