It is Brissett time. I think that this should mean that it is time for us to get players game and practice reps at LT.

We gain little by keeping Okorafor. To be clear, I don't know that we have anyone but Wallace to put in. Both the other new OL's are right side players. Wallace would make lots and lots of mistakes if should play because of a Lowe injury, but that's OK, especially if it is early in the season.

Practice Squad player Caleb Jones is also a RT.

I guess Okorafor was Plan A, Anderson was Plan B, Lowe was Plan C, and Wallace was Plan D.

Well, Lowe had been OK. It seems that Wallace needs to be the backup LT. I suppose that he could be the backup RT or not. We will likely continue to carry a developmental RT.

Obviously, we will continue to look at everyone's Practice Squads, but we already did that on Waiver Day.

PERHAPS
we should have an assistant coach work with all the RT's and see if any can be cross-trained to be a backup LT. This would help the team now, and perhaps next year also. Obviously, we will add a top LT or two. However, we will always need depth.

Okorafor will likely be our starting RT next week. If he struggles there (in his normal position), this could be a valid argument. Until then, this thread is premature.

First I was told not to worry, that Okorafor had played left tackle previously.

Later I was told not to worry, that Caedan Wallace would be able to play left tackle since he had taken snaps there during practices in college.

Unfortunately so far the only transition for Wallace has been from RT to TE, rather than RT to LT.

So much for those ideas, though to be fair it is only one game.

Put Okorafor back to RT, maximize the short term investment. From what I have read Wallace has the capability, he needs to learn how to do it in the NFL. If the skills are there, invest in him at LT. If it works, the team gets a huge boost. If it fails, the experience will be good for Wallace's development. There are not many options.

It's not like we have depth behind him.

I would at least wait until Sow comes back if not Strange too. having one of those two next to you instead Jordan should make things a little easier.

The question should have been asked in the offseason. Should we offer Chuks 3.1 million dollars and the answer was “no, there’s at least 3-4 better options we should give that money to instead.”
Well, he did quit on his team with 2 minutes left in a game while fighting for the playoffs so that definitely made him worth a look before any other options.

He’s probably starting this week if Robinson’s new shoulder injury is anything serious. Onwenu back to RG and Okorafor at RT makes way more sense than Jordan and Leverett as the two guards.

Absolutely, if Robinson is legit hurt, they gotta put Big Mike back at RG. Then, Wallace & Okra can fight for RT
Jordan actually fared decently at LG, but when Sow gets back we'll see who wins.
Lowe is clearly the best LT option right now, but I'd rather have Jacobs be the backup in waiting than try to teach Wallace the left side in a fire drill his rookie season. If Robinson can fight through shoulder, I expect the line to remain the same, with Okra as the backup LT.

We still need to figure out a new regime's definition of injury listings. hard to know how ticky-tac they'll be.

Yep Wozzy: been saying that since the signing terrible move by us Chukwuma is horrible. He's a back-up at best and if you get to him on the depth chart season over.

Okorafor is so bad I start liking V Lowe that alone should tell ya!

Just keep him as a depth option at this. We are stuck with Lowe at RT.. so unless Wallace can play LT than chuks should just stay a depth piece at this point. He's not a starting LT. He's a backups like Lowe is in reality

The guys on Patriots Unfiltered seemed to indicate they have heard Okorafor's issues stem from more of a "want to" than "can't". Basically he is a less talented Trent Brown.

Like someone that was here. Rhymes with bent.

At this point if lowe is healthy enough to play keep him there. Wallace should be at RT and just go with it. There is no help coming! Hence the best LT in the league is a 36 year old player.
