Brandon Marshall

I guess he doesnt like jewelry then (SB ring)...

Yup, it's disappointing.

I may have misread him. He may not be a Pats-type player if he can't suppress his ego rather to be part of something special.

Revis did it, and they can't take his ring away from him.

Marshall deserves a TON of credit for how he's dealt with his BPD issues.

(That has nothing to do with this thread.)

He really does, and he's a great example of mental health and how important it is for people to get diagnosed and treated for mental disorders..

Its no different than anything else you go to the doctor for, if you have something wrong with you then you get it checked out and treated...mental health is no different

People don't volunteer to have BPD, it's just a condition that people are born with or develop because of trauma or abuse they suffered, often at a young age. That's why it's important to continue to get these things out in the open and discuss them to remove this social stigma that seems to exist for people with mental disorders

Most people live their lives not even knowing they have a condition and won't seek help even if they suspect there is something wrong with them because of the social stigma..

So I applaud BM for coming out public with such a personal health issue and putting it into the spot light so that more attention is brought to it and people become more educated on these things...

He's a totally different person now that he's actively seeking treatment and learning how to manage his BPD.. It takes a lot of guts to tell tens of millions of people that you have a mental disorder, but he did and is living proof that you can take control of your life by managing your disorder instead of your disorder managing you

OK but at his age no matter where he goes, he will be a rental player. Which is why I think he is being whimsical if he thinks hes going to be a long term guy somewhere.
Again, I don't think that was what he was thinking. I think, because he has a pretty long history of playing on the other side of rivalries with the Pats (w/ Denver, Miami and the Jets) he doesn't really feel as though he'd embrace being a Pat. I don't think it has anything whatsoever to do with length of contract, here or elsewhere, nor does it indicate he thinks he's in line for a longer contract.

Correct. That is what I believe and he is unable/unwilling to articulate or grasp.

Thats an additional point you are making that I think is a reasonable one. However if that is what he is implying, I think he is full of crap. He'd go anywhere for the right price. After all, he still needs to endear himself to the Jets as they stand to pay him $7.5m next year and it would be bad business to talk bad about his current employer. Even Revis didn't do that until the Pats cut him loose and made him a FA.

Thats cool. I think we view him differently. I believe all these guys are about their next contract and their best deal. They don't come out and say it.

Getting rid of BM would be foolish for the Jets imo. (Which means they'll probably do it.)

Sure there are some good young guys with Enunwa and Anderson, and Decker is a very good receiver himself (just injured all the damn time). But Marshall is the only true #1 out of the group and someone who can be a huge help to a young QB given his size and abilities.

Basically just put the ball inside of an 5' radius, and he can usually go and get it. It's what allowed $hitz to look good last season.

Besides with all the work BM does off the field (mental health, Inside the NFL) don't see him leaving NY. Though his mental health work would probably do wonders up there in NE.
You mean with the Boston media?

Imagine how soul-destroying it must be to play on a dysfunctional team like the Jets. The fact that he's thrown in the towel to some extent doesn't mean he wouldn't come back to life on a real team.

I've been very impressed with his TV persona at least - very articulate and insightful. Think he'd be a good match with Belichick. When you hear Belichick talk about Moss it's not about how fast he was or how well he could catch - instead it's about how smart he was as a football player. I think BM might fall into a similar category.

So first we are getting Fitzgerald, now we're adding Marshall as well? Maybe we can sign Alshon Jeffery too..

Ahem

Time to get supafly in here to vouch for it.
Yes, sir. You nailed that one like a stone cold MF. You were all over it way before it happened.

He's grown and is more of a leader than the guy he was when Josh sent him packing but oh those hands of his.

Revis gets too much hate here. He was not in his prime but he did help the Pats win in 2014. It was a good business deal for both sides and personally i hold no hard feelings. I would be inclined to give him a cheer after the Pats/Jets game is over as he might be out of the league come next year.

Obviously 2014 was a deal good for both sides with both using the other to achieve their ends but it can't be said both weren't totally committed to winning it all that year. Marshall isn't 1/10th the professional Revis is so it would never work here.

The deal itself was fine.

His unprovoked bad-mouthing of Tom and the team after he left was disrespectful and cheap-shot in nature.

If BB et al determine that there is value to be had we might be interested. Personally, I don't see it.

I don't think he is a leader at all. He is more of a ME guy than most players at the most ME position in the league.

Revis when he was here was fine. Revis leaving was fine too.
Revis talking **** after leaving is where the problem lies.

Sure but to be fair it was a pretty small comment no one remembers but us. He should not have said it but I don't think that should be a reason he is hated here so much.
