Brandon Marshall

Neither were Moss nor Dillon until they joined and became Patriot material.

This.

I'm on record as being very skeptical that he is NEP material but if he signs here, what we know is BB has laid it out for him and both sides have committed to giving it a shot.

marshall is a cancer. he also has a long record of beating the **** out of women.

....i don't think bill would want to deal with those issues and the inside the NFL tv show on a weekly basis.

He turns 33 in March. If hes expecting a long term deal he has a reality distortion issue.

Rental player? At his age, his next team is probably going to be his last team. With rare exceptions like Steve Smith and Anquan Boldin, WR's don't play much past age 35.

Isn't Floyd basically the same player but 27 years old?

I'd rather the Pats go out and get Fitzgerald. Also I want to see what we have in Floyd before we think about bringing in someone else.

As for Marshall himself, if he doesn't want to become the Takeo Spikes of wide receivers, he'll shut up and take his one-year deal with the Pats. Sounds more like his ego is in the way though. Wants a multi-year deal, at age 33, and wants to be the focus. The Pats will not accomodate that, so I don't see it happening here.

Brandon Marshall, for a year or two in NE, would help keep Edelman fresher.

Of course Mitchell, and maybe Floyd, have the potential to do that as well.

“That’s intriguing, but that wouldn’t be my team,” Marshall told the Daily News in a candid discussion about his future. “I would be a rental player.”

So who is this clown's team? The Broncos, Dolphins, Bears, or Jets? What a total ****head, basically saying in advance his heart wouldn't be in it fully...wow, what a prize. Wonder why he hasn't made the playoffs in 16 years.

No thanks. He isn't Patriot material.
He's not even Penske material.

I was going to say absolutely not, and I do think that, but then I realized that if Belichick signed him my opinion on it would almost certainly change, so what difference does it make?
This.

I live in NY, so I get stuck watching a lot of Jet's games. I want no part of Marshall. He gave up on the team weeks ago. I've seen so many passes come his way the last 5 or 6 weeks, where he doesn't even try to catch it. He just has shown zero effort, which doesn't help the team, especially a QB starting for the first time. Saw one play last week, where if he just stuck his arms out, would've been a 25+ yard competition, he didn't even try.

I love his personality, he's great on This Week In Football (or whatever the show is on Showtime). But he's a quitter, don't want him on the team.

Marshall deserves a TON of credit for how he's dealt with his BPD issues.

(That has nothing to do with this thread.)

And to think people here (and elsewhere) hold it against him. I remember a thread here months ago when someone called him a "psycho" because of his BPD....that's just messed up.

I would be perfectly happy for him to take another week off, this week.

The thrust of his remark wasn't the length of the deal, it was the the Pats would never be 'his team', and if he were here, it would be as a rental player only.

By not being his team, I take that to mean he wants to be the man, and not part of a team concept.

when and how much are the Patriots going to get fined for Brandon Marshall tampering with the Patriots?

Hes a hard one to figure out he makes some awesome catches then he drops a wide open slant on 3rd and 5 leading to a 3 and out. It would be hard to consider someone with such wild inconsistency. That said I really like Malcom Mitchell on the outside.

OK but at his age no matter where he goes, he will be a rental player. Which is why I think he is being whimsical if he thinks hes going to be a long term guy somewhere.

Taking snaps away from MM and giving them to BM is dumb.

I think that is part of his DNA too. Hes an alpha male and wants that kind of status in the locker room.

There is no room for that in Foxboro, especially will all those Lombardis, MVP trophys and damn rings all over the place.
