Between the Beatles, Wings, and solo material, I probably own 15-20 albums containing Paul McCartney songs, many of which are all-time great recordings.

That list of greats IMHO does NOT include "Wonderful Christmastime."

It's basically a weaponized ear worm. The song is fine, whatever, but if I hear it I'm screwed for the next 3 weeks.

I think he did it as a dare. Someone said to him, you could put out 3 minutes of your belching and it would get tremendous airplay. He said "You're on, bloke!". And then had to pay up.

I can't take that song seriously for some reason, those background noises are so corny it makes me laugh. I like it for that very reason I guess
