Ian has kindly agreed to make me moderator for the forum. I therefore have the power to delete threads, lock them and so on. I would like to have a discussion about "house rules". It is nice to have debate but it IS a religious forum and people should have the right of respect for their religious views.
The usual stuff about personal attacks and profanity apply. Bear with me; I'm learning the ropes with moderation.
My first duty is to delete spam threads.
Please note that I am available online (generally) between 1130 and 1730/1830 Eastern Time in the week, as I can't log on at work. At the weekends, I am always around, but it may take a little longer to reply during a game itself. Besides, why would anyone PM me during a game?

Congrats, this is a good thing, too long has this been a haven for spam and links to porn sites.. do well, now maybe can get some of the folks who do not understand the difference between politics and religion to post here..

Just did a quick check about 66% of the threads here need the deletion key.. not sure why this is such a haven for some of this crap.

Thanks. I'm currently going through and deleting the spam. It will take me quite some time, as there are six pages to go through. It would be nice to have the distinction between religion and politics, as it would be better for both forums.

Many do not think there is any, imo religion is distinctly different.. good luck this forum has been neglected too long.

Looks as though you are off to a good start, keep up the good work, you are turning into a bad ***** sheriff of this board.

Cheers. It's just a case of riding into town on my trusty steed, dealing with the wannabe gunslinger and heading off to herd cattle...

Congrats, but can you now browse through my ultra secretive PM's that plot an overthrow of the British monarchy?

First day I have checked here and no visible spam, glad to see that this board can be viable. Good Job.

Well, all I can say is, thank God the religious forum got a new moderator.

My compliments to Ian on an excellent choice for moderator.

Gomezcat:

"As far as you lunatics are concerned, I am the messiah of the religious forum"

Very succinctly put. I would say thanks for the compliment, but....

I am now subject to the moderator code of omerta about what we can and cannot see. As I do not wish "to swim with the fishes" any time soon or "wear concrete shoes", I have suddenly become mute.

Congratulations! Poachers make the best game-keepers.

(And Miss GC tells us that you're pretty much house-trained too)

Congrats Cat!! When you get what appears to be a porn spam you should examine it carefully, several times, to make sure it is indeed what you think it is. Never be too quick to delete without careful examiation.:rocker:

Excellent advice, Nut. I might even go so far as to download and watch the contents later, just to make sure.
