Jimmy Garoppolo's Injury Discussion; X-Rays Negative

Phew, could still easily be bad enough to keep him out through week 4, but broken collarbone was my first guess. Hoping for him to be better in 4 days may be a bit much, but hopefully he can be back week 4.

Matt Hasselbeck is the guy I'd be calling. A veteran who should be able to avoid doing stupid things.

Assuming that Jimmy is not gone for the season, Hasselbeck is a guy who should not have a problem with a short term gig, knowing he gets cut when Brady returns.

Well one things for sure we have our future franchise quarterback

Well, that means there's not a break - doesn't necessarily mean much in terms of him playing next week (he looked like he was in a helluva lot of pain)

Considering "next week" is in 4 days...yeah I don't think he's playing next week. Week 4.....we'll see.

I think Gronk was scheduled to be back for Thurs. But now with Brissette at the helm, his return might be postponed.

Even if true, still have my doubts he will be ready for Thursday. The game Thursday looks like it may be bleak, but its one we can afford to lose if need be.

Agreed. If I have to choose to lose a game, it will be Thursday'. Today's contest and the Bills game are divisional.

*Another useful stat. We're +1 in takeaways!!

That's great!

(Side note: The medical profession really needs to get a grip on this "negative is good" terminology - I'm sure there've been more than a few families who learned the hard way that "positive" ain't so positive.)

It's right up there with accepting/rejecting the null hypothesis for terminology that makes plenty of sense, but is likely to be confusing to the average layman. Football fans should be pretty familiar with it by now, though.

So what are the likely injuries?

Dislocation? AC sprain? Could still be long term injuries or short term.

However no broken bones is obviously good news.

I sincerely doubt he plays next week. The only question is who they sign to back up Brissett. Smart money is on Hoyer.
You want to trade with the Bears for Hoyer? I doubt that happens.

Edit: someone else addressed this first.

If Jimmy somehow returns for game 4 : it would be a huge win for the team IMO.

Separation is most likely
