Julian Edelman - The Irony! Deflates ballboy!

Of course we could look at the replay and see that Edelman was clearly pushed hard into the sideline by a Cardinal player (22).

The end.

ROADHOUSE! KEEP THE CHANGE!

You can't collect damages for being hit in the head with a fly ball at a baseball game. Being hit with a flying football player on the sidelines of an NFL game is much the same.

Additionally, if that guy's a league employee, he should be insured by said league. In the event he needs medical attention, which is likely considering the pure pwnage of that hit.

That's why I don't care one way or another that he trucked him. The ball boy is okay and so is Edelman.

Tough ballboy, taking that hit. Maybe Bill should sign him to play special teams?

Looked to me like he turned his body to the side to avoid hitting him square on with a lowered shoulder or helmet. The stare? We can't see his face, but he definitely looks him down. He was also shoved as he was going OB.

An NFL sideline isn't for the faint of heart.

The guy he hit wasn't a "civilian" like a photographer in an assigned place or a sideline reporter; it was a game day employee who is supposed to know better and get the hell out of the way. Jules ran through two layers of officials and players before he got to the ballboy, who was standing like a deer in the headlights, staring at Edelman and not trying to avoid contact like everyone else managed to do.

He put himself and Edelman in danger...more himself, of course ...but Edelman isn't responsible for risking injury trying to turn on a dime to avoid him.

It looked like he was not a ballboy but rather a gameday employee of the league who was on the chain/ yardage stick crew.

In Edelman's defense, the ball boy is just standing there looking at Edelman. He didn't even bother to move or at least duck.

If it came down to either Edelman or the ball boy getting hurt, I know who 100% of us would pick.

Agreed. Edelman also has to defend himself from injury, and I think lowering his shoulder was the best way to do so.

If he is going to have any issues with the NFL, it will be for that crackback block on Deone Bucannon as it looks a little like he left his feet and hit him in the head.

In the sideline guy's defense, who here jumps out of the way of a flying squirrel?
Well, if the squirrel was armored and weighed 195 pounds, I don't think I'd be thinking...I'd move out of the way because of instinctual fear . I mean self-preservation...sounds more manly.

Looked less to me like "I'm gonna wreck this guy" and more of an instinctive "well, looks like this is happening. Better brace myself". In any case, it'll probably end up being the story he tells when he's done, so there is that.

Loved the crackback on Bucannon that's highlighted in that link, too. That was vicious.

Yep. That was the first legit moment this season where I've stood up and fist pumped at the TV. Hopefully many more of those are coming.

I thought he could have given a hand and help the poor guy to stand up but I don't know the culture on the sidelines, Edelman was fired up, sometimes gotta keep going.

That guy went flying about 10 feet, lol, he would have had to run way into the sideline to do that. No time in a football game for that nonsense. If you're on a sideline in a football, it's your responsibility to avoid the guys with forwards momentum, not the other way around.

Jules was really fired up last night and set the tone. It looked like the Cardinals were intimidated by him.

If he is going to have any issues with the NFL, it will be for that crackback block on Deone Bucannon as it looks a little like he left his feet and hit him in the head.

Yeah. Watching that live I was surprised there was no flag. But I won't be surprised if he gets a yellow envelope in the mail on Thursday.
