Nink facing 4 game suspension

Frankly Nink needs some snaps off. A shorter season will do him good after playing 95% of the snaps for 3 straight seasons.

so he gets suspended but those other mother ****ers dont?

Sad for Nink and his rep. good for depth on 53 and some bubble boy we dont want to loose.
I can already hear Ninkgate rumours starting ...

Eh, from who? Let he whose team has never a defensive starter suspended for PEDs cast the first stone.

Well this sucks. More fuel for Pat's haters.

I'm slow on the uptake. For what PEDs? Ball deflation?

EDIT: Banned substance.

So if he's suspended and injured, do the Pats have to activate him and keep him on the roster for the suspension games to "count"?

No.

Roster projections just got one player easier

DE/LB
- Ninkovich (suspended) does not count for the 53

Wow, surprising news. Really stinks, but if there is one position that we have good depth, it's d-end....hopefully, come week 5, he'll be a man on a mission!!!

Playing football the way it is done today is not natural. To put your body through this 16 (up to 23 times a year depending on preseason and playoffs) is not natural. Of course that assumes you don't get serious injuries which are common.

The human body was never designed to do what we ask these people to do. To take that consistent pounding week after week for years while also running a 4.50 and being 200 plus pounds while doing it.

Most of the guys who play DL, OL, LB, RB, TE are on something (not saying other positions don't but these are the most common). If you are not you are in the minority IMO.

I am not saying it is okay but every team has a number of guys that do it and could not hold up if they did not.

I'm sorry to hear this news and would love to know exactly what he took to get suspended. As mentioned earlier, the positive spin is that he'll get the extra time to heal and won't count against the roster for the first 4 games.

That is something the Omissioner will look to address regarding future suspensions against Pats players.

The Pats will not be allowed a roster exemption for suspended players

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
If the Pats carry an extra DE in Ninkovich's absence, Rufus Johnson is the better defensive player, Geneo Grissom the better special teamer.

I believe Ninkovich 100%. Can't imagine why he'd bother with PEDs or anything.

It's a very real and common occurrence to have store bought supplements test positive.

I say with Mingo and McCellin who play on the edge take this chance to hold on to an extra CB. We can afford to go light on the front 7 and better to keep a good player and since we know Nink will be back at 100% in 4 weeks it is a risk I don't mind taking.
