2016 Training Camp - Day 15 (Tue 8-16-2016) [2nd Bears Joint Practice]

Sheard now is a bit concerning to me. He tweaked something in the game last Thursday. They briefly checked his lower leg, but if memory serves, he returned to the game. But he has now missed three straight...color me unhappy with that.

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING the Pats would be cautious with their best pass rusher with a month still to go until the season

Gotta say I thought the line play was way better with Andrews at center. And Stork has had issues.

I think he's made an attempt to control his temper... but... sometimes it's just the way you're wired...

I really don't see anything wrong with what he did. The Bears are trying to get rough, and the Pats smacked them around. The hatred between the teams probably goes back to the 50+ points the Pats put on them the last time they played.

I like a mean snarling Olineman who doesn't take **** from anyone. Reminds me of the Mankins days. Let's not put dresses on these guys. This was practice, he's not gonna do it in a game.

Agree completely. You want an ornery SOB out there. You don't want a submissive bytch. The only problem with Stork is his concussions. Other than that he is the starter ahead of Andrews.

Logan Ryan just had perfect coverage on Alshon Jeffery. Didn't matter much. Jeffery went up and took the ball away.

I am okay with this. The players on other teams get paid too but if you make them put together a string of very good plays in a row they usually fail.

Yea its just a statistics/numbers game.. a perfectly thrown ball is indefensible, but you just play tight coverage and force them to make perfect throws the entire game, which is a really low percentage chance of happening on any given play, much less consistently throughout a game

Some say that Andrews has had the edge to date, and the separation can only be greater after today. But the physical comparison is pretty one-sided, with Stork being the bigger, stronger specimen. Stork also offers greater flexibility, as he can play anywhere on the line. Reliability gets a huge value in Foxboro, however, so I would not be surprised to see Andrews get the nod, in which case Stork could be be a surprise trade candidate.
What do you think we'd be able to get for him, Mack? Gotta have to think it'd be a low rounder due to concussion history, etc.

Someone said it was lower back
Ohhh, then maybe I heard incorrectly. I was sure Zo said leg, but I honestly have no clue. I just hope he's okay either way.

Joint practices are the 1st 2 weeks of preseason games. Then the 3rd week resembles what a real NFL week would be like and then the 4th week BB has pretty much the 53 in mind so it's just really a showcase for guys that will be getting cut. So there are no joint practices the last 2 weeks

So basically because the Bears are the Week 2 game, that's why it was them

2012 Bucs, preseason week 3. They had joint practices. BB said it has to be useful for both teams. It wouldn't surprise me if BB decides not to do joint practices with John Fox teams in the future.

The only week I don't see it being done is week 4. Since that's really just for the bottom end of the roster.

I have to admit that I really had high hopes for Boyce; I thought he could really help us. Just never happened.
I think quite a few of us thought there was some potential there. But as you said, it just never happened. His career might be cooked at this point.

Mike Reiss totally called Stork out on Twitter. Said he is prone to random outbursts and flies off the handle. Suggested it might be concussion-related.

That's pretty nuts, I like Reiss but he doesn't usually call someone out to that degree. Interesting.

I'd had the same thoughts before Reiss' comment.
Somebody here had commented that he'd known/seen Stork in college and he was unstable even then.

He said that LeBlanc plays faster than his 40 time with is exactly what I said.

So Loyko thinks that LeBlanc has a decent shot of making the team?

I wonder how that's going to work with J.Jones already considered "a lock" after one preseason game?

I'm no Belichick and I easily could be wrong on this, but I always think of the consummate center personality as being extremely level headed and unflappable under pressure unlike the kind of fiery attitude you don't mind seeing from your guard or tackle.
