BTW - those fearing that Brady won't get to see game film should rest easy. I think Brady might be able to get a loan from his wife, so he afford to pay for the Premium package from the NFLN that allows you access to full coaches tapes from every team, in the league on the Wednesday after the game. He also may find a few bucks to pay for some people to break them down for him. So while he is watching Cleveland tape, Tom can have some guys breaking down the AFC East teams as well as any other future Pats opponents, and do it all perfectly legally. (BTW- if anyone knows Tom personally, I'd be willing to help him out for free.)
As for the physically working out, there is no rules against him working out with guys like, Welker, Moss, and Brown or ANYONE else who is a FA on Sept 5th. Despite the fact that Welker is still a member of the NFLPA, doesn't mean that the NFL can tell him or any other player who is not currently under contract who they can work out with.
So I don't worry about Tom not having guys to throw to during that 4 week lull. I have no fear that he won't be up to date in what other teams are doing. Unfortunately there WILL be a short time where Brady will need to break off the rust and get back in synch with his receivers and OL. The week of practice will take care of most of it, but I wouldn't expect Tom to be 100% for the first week or two.
