You have to make moves to get your shot in the pros, Rochrist. Look, he's young and he's built like a linebacker. Maybe he'll be able to add some needed defense at the small forward slot. Third pick in the draft? Hate to say it, but I think Dunn will be a far better player in the NBA. Plus there's the geographic question...you take an unfinished young kid from the West Coast when you have a shoit at a finished product from right down the street with better ball skills. I draft Dunn and market Isaiah and move on.

We'll see anyway...hope I'm dead wrong.

He had somewhat of a dissapointing season at cal. I was surprise he picked cal. He was a big time high school recruit. I am cautious cause ainge's last couple of picks have been awful.

The bulls selected valentine. I thibk butler will be traded. There where rumors about him going to minnesota.

Supposedly Chi wants Wiggins, Minny says no way.

Ainge's drunk tonight lol. He drafted an undersized power foward at 16.

Is it just me or does it seem like almost all of Danny Ainge's picks are the inevitable Bill Belichick 3rd round headscratcher?

They got a good coach who got these guys playing hard this past season but ainge's drafting has been awful lately

Tony Parker's from France!!!....uh....um...who else...trying to think of any French player worth a damn ....I read this guy was slated as a high 2nd round pick...so yeah, Belechickian.....

Celtics take Zizic a kid with a high motor who is tough as nails.
All 3 players drafted have high motors and are tough ... there's a plan here.

Zizic is a logical pick. I can grasp this.

Rochrist...Dunn is a scorer. Rondo isn't even in the same hemisphere.I go to a lot of PC home games. The kid can shoot the rock. He's got shoulder issues though. Maybe that's why they passed.

i honestly never heard of jaylen brown. just saw some highlights and don't look special to me. imagine none of these players pan out. yikes.

If you never heard of him, you obviously paid no attention at all to the draft. The consensus was that picks 3-8 were all bunched together and everyone had their own rankings. Many people ranked him 3, many people ranked him 8, and many people ranked him at every spot in between. NOBODY ranked him lower. If you never heard of him, you weren't paying attentiton and you don't really care that much.

The computer projections don't love Brown, but he'll fit an obvious need for the Celtics on the wing. The 19-year-old brings an NBA-ready and raw athleticism, but has to prove himself after a disappointing college season at Cal.

In the stats-only portion of Kevin Pelton's draft projections model, Brown ranked an impossibly low 101st among all draft-eligible prospects with a WARP (wins above replacement player) of minus-0.5. While a decent number of players have been taken in the first-round teens and 20s with a negative WARP, only two players have been selected in the top 10 with a negative WARP since 2006 -- Austin Rivers (minus-0.1) at No. 10 in 2012 and Joe Alexander (minus-0.1) at No. 8 in 2008.

Did you see even ONE highlight of this kid taking a jumper? Maybe after they spend three years drilling into his head that the orange ring with a net is important when shooting jumpers, he'll be able to put up 5 ppg. Horrible pick.
Most of his problems are mechanics issues that can be fixed with proper coaching. Not saying he's the next Curry or anything but if I trust any coach to get this kid playing up to potential its Brad Stevens.

The consensus among most scouts seems to be hes got a lot of raw, natural athleticism that can be molded if paired with the right situation. Stevens has made a living out of squeezing blood from a stone so why not do it with a guy that has a lot of natural ability as opposed to under-athletic, scrappy overachievers.

i'd certainly rather have Brown than drafting our 37th guard in the past 3 years.

Thomas /did/ average 24.2 points a game in the playoffs.

I know. I love watching him. I just don't like watching him in the clutch. Too many forced shots.

I like the Brown pick. Just not at 3

Lotta reaches by Danny last night but clearly he drafts on upside, high ceiling guys and not NBA ready players.

What was wrong with Marcus Smart?

He needs to play more.

How was Dywane Wade's jumper coming out of Marquette?

This kid has the tools and they clearly liked his mental makeup. Stevens has turned far less talented guys into productive players at both the college and pro levels.

Dunn is really good, but is 22 and not at a position of need

What is the "geographic question"? Brown is from Georgia. If he were from Connecticut, it would make him a better pick? Anyway, what are your thoughts on Bentil?
