Who gives a **** about the other games? That's irrelevant.

To say that missing the team's toughest player, best rebounder and the 2nd best front court defender in the NBA in G5 is not a reasonable excuse for why they lost is flat out wrong

He was amazing in game 6....

Do you ever stop and think how stupid what you are suggesting is? If you say that the refs can change the outcome of a game so much that one team wins by 15 or 20 points (the team that would have lost, according to you, if there had been no conspiracy), why wouldn't every series, or at least every finals series, go seven games? Why did Lebron get swept by he Spurs in the finals? Why did he beat OKC in 5? Is your theory that they pick and choose which series they want to extend? Sometimes they want to make extra money, and sometimes they don't? Help me understand what seems to be utter madness.

Well said. The tin foil hat folks in this thread are strong.

Stupid to suggest that the NBA can actually rig a game? Lol cuz they've never done it before right?

I double down on the first sentence from my previous post, and rest my case.

Can't use Draymond's suspension as an excuse. They had other players who could have stepped up. Steph was still playing as was Klay and Barnes. They were also at home. Plus the Warriors faced injured teams in every round last year which got them their first ring, played 2 crappy teams this year in the first 2 rounds, and needed an okc chokejob to complete their 3-1 comeback. The fact that Green was not suspended last series and was now is karma and well overdue. You should NEVER get away for kicking/punching someone in the balls.

Oh and nice to see Curry throwing a temper tantrum when he fouled out. Amazing display of "leadership." He learned from his good friend Cam Newton. Historic team my ass. Historic teams don't go down 3-1 and play game 7's TWICE and get blown out 5 times in a possible title run.

Good point on Curry.

You never see "temper tantrums" from multiple champions like MJ, Kobe, Brady, Ortiz... Wait, you do? They all do it?

Oh.

I'd say Currys frustration will do nothing but fire up his teammates. That's passion my friend. Ortiz and Brady have those meltdowns yearly

As someone who is barely aware the NBA exists but ended up watching a little of this game without caring who won, I didn't really see the one-sided officiating. I saw some bad calls but nothing that screams rigged to me.

What's the backstory with people assuming the NBA rigs games?
Couple refs got busted shooting for bettings lines. There's some legitimacy to the claims today and some are just insane. Teams that fall behind in series definitely get favorable treatment. But, it turns into every fan base thinking there's a conspiracy against them. I believe the draft used to be rigged but, I don't believe it is today. No matter who gets the #1 pick there's a story line behind why it was rigged for them.

Curry has health issues and they are really clamping down on him. They are making him work for everything and his success has been sporadic.

Search: Tim Donaghy

That will answer everything.

I agree. I remember against Green Bay in 2014 Brady was filmed cursing like crazy pumped me up as a fan even in a losing effort I can only imagine how much his teammates liked that.

Hey man, I have no dog in this fight. In the poll started in this thread, i actually picked and thought Cleveland to win before the series started. One of the few.

With that, Cleveland and Lebron looked dead after game 4. The fact that Draymond Green got suspended for game 5 was one thing, to see Curry foul out, especially after 2-3 questionable calls, and considering the player he is (when's the last time Curry fouled out?) All seems sketchy. And considering the leagues past with refs fixing games, its warranted. Basketball (at least the NBA) and soccer have that in their history.

The person you were referring to in your post I quoted...
"To say that missing the team's toughest player, best rebounder and the 2nd best front court defender in the NBA in G5 is not a reasonable excuse for why they lost is flat out wrong"

I was pointing out that he played horrible in G6 so why should it be an excuse as to why they lost in G5.

OK, let's say we should believe a felon like Donaghy, who was saying everything and anything to get a reduced sentence and prolong his 15 minutes of fame. How many games did he actually say were fixed by the league? 1,000? 500? 100? 50? 10? 5? Or was it 1? Yes, there was one game in the LAL v. Sac series where LAL shot 18 more free throws than Sac in the 4th quarter. 18 more! In one quarter! Many people who saw that game, including me, thought something was up. That is a far cry from what is going on in this series, or any other series, to say the least.

How about his play in the prior games? He was great in Game 2. How about the playoffs overall? How about the entire season?

Using one game's performance to make your argument is ******** and you know it.

The Warriors this season have now lost 4 more games than the 96 Bulls did.

I don't know about that because previously Green had never been punished for anything up to that point. There was little reason to believe he was going to be punished now after what he did vs OKC (did suspension worthy things in games 3-7). LeBron's performance last night proved he could have had a big night Monday even with Green in the lineup.
Warriors had the momentum and were looking to put it away. LeBron knew exactly what would happen and that's why he tried to gain any edge possible.

Once again, your trolling knows no bounds. Are you expecting ANYBODY to believe this BS post? ONE Game?

2007 NBA betting scandal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2007 NBA betting scandal was a scandal involving the National Basketball Association (NBA) and accusations that an NBA referee used his knowledge of relationships between referees, coaches, players and owners to bet on professional basketball games. In July 2007, reports of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were made public, which alleged that during the 2005–06 and 2006–07 NBA seasons, referee Tim Donaghy bet on games in which he officiated.1]

On August 15, 2007, Donaghy pleaded guilty to two federal charges related to the investigation, and a year later he was sentenced to 15 months in prison and three years of supervised release. As a result, the general reaction by the media was that the NBA's popularity would be hurt by the news of this scandal.

The story first broke when the New York Post reported that the FBI was investigating allegations that an NBA referee had bet on games.[2] The story was soon picked up by other major news agencies,[1][3][4] as it was revealed that Donaghy was the referee under investigation. The reports claimed that Donaghy had started betting on games in 2005, and had connections to organized crime.[4]

The day after the initial reports, NBA commissioner David Stern said "that no amount of effort, time or personnel is being spared to assist in this investigation, to bring to justice an individual who has betrayed the most sacred trust in professional sports, and to take the necessary steps to protect against this ever happening again."[5] He then held a press conference on July 24 to address questions about the investigation. Although he called the Donaghy matter "an isolated case", he also said it was "the most serious situation and worst situation that I have ever experienced".[6]

Please, in the kindest way possible, GO F YOURSELF with the constant misinformation, disinformation and WRONG information. You've been trolling and lying all year in the Brady threads and now THIS complete bull.Enough.

Those guys have multiple championships and are legit. Kill yourself before ever mentioning Curry in the class of those 2 ever again. Curry's lone title came at the expense of playing injured teams in every round. And don't give me the the regular season crap either. Regular season wins mean little in comparison to the playoffs. In the postseason, they have beaten ONE top notch healthy team and they needed them to choke a 3-1 series lead away. So far 2 top notch healthy teams, 2 game 7's. Hardly impressive at all for a 73-9 team and a unanimous mvp.

It means everything. You can't use Green being out as an excuse when the Warriors were friggin gifted the championship last season facing nothing but injured teams last season. You can't go halfway on this.

Win or lose, this Warrior team won't be remembered as anything special. They didn't dominate at all during the postseason. This was their peak. Their absolute best they have to offer and they have been nothing but vulnerable. The 2001 Lakers made their mark as a historic team. 15-1 and 8-0 on the road. People are still talking about that team 15 years and counting despite them winning 56 regular season games. You know why? Because they dominated the postseason where it gets much tougher and they went unbeaten on the road where that is the toughest to win.
