Some good nuggets in the dissent. Like this one:

How come this "Brady gives u nothing" text message hasn't been publicized like the others?

Seems to me this text message would neuter a lot of the anti-Brady argument about bribing those guys.

On the bright side, the suspension doesn't interfere with any Jet/Pat games. Those matchups are like mini-playoff games. Wouldn't be the same w/o Brady.

Could prove to be even more interesting this season if the Pats start off slow. Doubtful a wildcard will come out of the division this year, so our two late season matchups could be huge.

It's Kraft that needs to be boycotted, he did **** all as an owner but bow down to Goodell. Instead of going to bat for the player that made him the owner he is and turned this Franchise into what it is, belated down.

Boycotting the NFL as pats fans won't nearly do as much as boycotting Kraft due to their being 31 other franchises.

#ScrewKraft

As we saw with the Chiefs this is a dictatorship calling the NFL fair in any way shape or form is a joke.
I hope BB and Brady both walk away after raising the lombardi and air out the entire leagues dirty laundry then say fuk it and walk away.

no chance that ever happens

the judges even ruled on the remaining issues. so much for bermans " bulletproof " case..
all of the lawyers on here ended up being completely wrong...

i wonder if tom will say anything...his offseason has basically been destroyed. all of the wr's/te's need to start working with jimmy G

That why this will be a lost season. People aren't seeing the big picture. Hogan and Bennett will have next to zero chemistry with TB in game situation. They will be lucky to go 10-6 this season because of that. If the have an injury to Gronk or Edelman I will drop that further. This was the goal of the NFL which is why the maddening game plans and play at junctures last season were so terrible. That was the one best lash chance to win it all again. Maybe not the last, but the best last chance.

Well, Ihope that all of New England follows up with PatsFans.com's idea to skip watching the 1st day of the draft.

Personally, I'd like to get the mailing addresses for the judges who ruled to uphold this suspension. I'd like to mail them a small leather bag with 30 pieces of silver in it. I understand that that is the going rate for selling out and betraying a trust.

To be fair, there's been a whole string of SCOTUS cases gutting oversight of arbitration cases for the last decade. Not just labor arbitration, but consumer arbitration as well. Arbitrators basically have carte blanche without any court oversight except on procedural grounds, and the CBA cedes binding arbitration to the NFL without any reservation.

I get that but saying that the Arbiter can make mistakes of facts or law when putting out an award is going a step far don't you agree ? Again, it is not so much about the Brady case for me but this sentence is crazy.

**** that. everyone needs to skip the whole draft

So now any boss in the country can accuse an employee of something as impossible as violating the laws of physics, then make up some BS 'evidence' at third remove from the events and the facts, suspend said employee, hear his appeal himself, and, based on the boss's fake facts and spurious evidence, uphold the employee's suspension? And now there is no recourse for the employee but to go to the Supreme Court? Insane! Just insane.

what do you mean now?
its happening all the time
(its not even an effort vs poor people)

I think at this point, any labor union has to assume that it will exist in a perpetual state of open war with management. That seemed pretty clear before now, but this pretty much codifies it. Have to fight for every scrap, and assume that every concession that isn't explicitly granted to you will be interpreted against you in the worst possible way. This only changes if the next SC justice is a pro-labor progressive, which I don't see happening.

Which is why I would be a great President. Day one, I would have the DOJ to come up with an order to ensure that powers of arbitration cannot be based on mistruths or opposite of the law.

I admit until now I was unclear on the rules of arbitration and that you could lie, cheat, steal etc and have no one challenge you. Opinion is one thing, to skew facts or the law is wholly a different thing. This is very, very dangerous now thst it has been brought to light.

Now I've seen it all. A Jet's fan coming over to cheer us up. No offense, but I don't think anyone around here give's a rat's *** what you think at this moment.

I'm so drained of this topic that I just want it to go away.

I'll focus on the positives and not the negatives

Anyone interested in going to NY and burning goodells image in effigy?

Brady is not suspended during TC or preseason. He will have multiple weeks of time to build a rapport with new players. Overall losing him for those four games hurts a lot but lets not jump off the cliff and give up on a season that has not really started just yet.

There's more. Judge Barrington Parker wondered why Brady would destroy his cell phone.

“Why couldn't the commissioner suspend Brady for that conduct alone?” Parker said, via the Providence Journal. “You have one of the most celebrated players performing in that fashion? Anybody within 100 yards of this proceeding knew that would raise the stakes.”

When Kessler explained that Brady routinely destroyed his phones, Parker seemed unimpressed, saying that it “made no sense whatsoever.”

Based on various reports coming out of the hearing, Brady's lawyer got the worst of it, though the judges also questioned whether Goodell's punishment was "draconian for a few pounds per square inch," and referred to the commissioner as "judge, juror ... and the enforcer."
