I'd be shocked if Weddle would end up here. It seems like the draft is the ideal playground for BB and Patricia in their search for the ideal hybrid defensive back/lb.

Well, Bill previously signed a veteran Pro Bowl-caliber Safety who spent who entire career with the Chargers named Harrison....can't see why he wouldn't again.

Add in 22m more in cap space plus the FA day 1 insanity tax and its not that crazy. Still a huge amount of money.

The $7m is. But $3.5m I don't think is..

Mostly because DMac is on the team plus the other resources (draft picks + contracts) that are/were allocated to defensive backs.

I like Weddle, but just dont see it as a viable scenario on a market-level contract.

There is a report out there that the steelers want weddle badly.

the one guy i really want. we have the $$$. tom restructured/if we extend some of our key players we create even more salary cap. i don't see why we can't go out and get a player or two. no 1st round pick, bill should try to address one of our holes in FA.

Yeah... don't hold your breath. There isn't a chance in Hell that the Pats are going to outbid those other three teams. They may just be doing it to drive the price up for the Donks.

Sadly I agree. Figured we had a shot one-on-one with him (like Sanders in 2013), but this many teams is bad. Plus he has connections with Miami and Chicago.

Are you saying that's too high or too low?

Have to go by what the market has been which was Marvin Jones getting $8m per and Benjamin got $6m per. 2 years ago the Patriots gave LaFell $3.6m per and that market was actually softer for WR than this one has been so far

D.Jax got 3 for 24
Decker got 5 for 36
Edelman 4 for 17
Tate 5 for 31
Sanders 3 for 15

the tate/sanders contracts are bargains...
**** we should of signed one of them

Having Emmanual Sanders in our Stadium negotiating a deal with his agent and letting him walk away was a travesty in hindsight, given that he's more underpaid than Edelman is right now and is a great player

If I'm BB I'm seriously looking into trading Jones right now. Rather get something for him rather than a fairly average to maybe above average season only to let him walk. Get a comp pick I suppose if that happens...

Do it Bill or at least offer a contract that could be a poison pill to the Broncos

Just a reminder that poison pills no longer work: teams don't have to match terms that don't/can't apply to the other team.

Well Tavon Wilson is gone and Ebner is currently a FA.

Currently the safety position is McCourty, Chung and Harmon....King and Jordan Richards the backups (woof...)

I don't think bringing Weddle aboard is that big a stretch. Especially since he was quoted at having interest in coming here.

Whoa, NFL whacks Chiefs for violating the anti-tampering rules last year re; Maclin. Lose 3rd round pick this year, 6th rounder in '17.

Woah! How do they lose a 3rd + 6th round pick and the Jets only had to pay $100k?

WTF

They tampered the **** out of Deion Branch too and didn't get punished at all... What a ****ing joke

Only players that have been slapped with the Transition tag.. Anderson is a RFA.
