Has anybody heard/seen any news about sanu or kearse?

Nope...only WR i saw was Jones and CLE. And no thanks to Powell. Give these RB contracts...Think we are out on Forte.

And cowboys on powell? I smell a stupid contract incoming!

Jones or Randle are the only receivers worth signing.
Gordon, Hunter, Floyd are worth trading for

Anyone believing idiot mehta is dumb

Really hoping bb has been chatting with Courtney upshaw today.

There are multiple ways to win a Super Bowl. The Broncos went wild in FA 2 years ago and they won a Super Bowl with a corpse playing QB. So I really don't want to see the "I can't stand it!" mocking anymore. Elway's strategy worked. I want some nice FAs (or trades) this year and will be disappointed if we don't.

as long as tb12 isnt suspended, i'd call this offseason a success.
..if he gets suspended, then the offseason is a disaster.

Not sure why. Dont really see a fit with him being a 3-4 OLB. Which means he would be a DE which is kind of a stocked position right now for the team.

Trade Jones for a WR

If we can't get Forte, I want Alfred Morris.

  • Agree
Reactions: Mix
Rather have James Starks than Alfred Morris

@dougkyed The Patriots have expressed interest in free-agent WR Rishard Matthews, per source. Caught 43 passes for 662 yards, 4 TDs last season.

Hopefully someone else overpays for Powell. Rishard Mathews wouldn't be a bad option.

That would make him the 21st hightest paid CB in the NFL.

Not sure Malcolm would agree with that.

Cornerback Contracts and Salaries | Over The Cap

True, but it's a vast improvement on his current bottom roster (or close to) salary, and would allow him the benefit of having financial security not only now, but for the rest of his life with a relatively small sample size.

If I'm NE, I don't offer him anything higher than about 8m--8.5m dollars a year at the moment. If he wants to ride out the rest of his UDFA pact for the next year or two that's fine too, but he'll absorb all of the risk that comes with that.

The big problem I have is we are hearing about these deals. If you want a deal in principle fine. I agree and see no problem with that.

Just don't be saying or leaking anything until FA officially begins. That's why people can't have nice things. I shouldn't know that Mario Williams is signing with Miami. Or that Jax will sign who they will. Not yet at least.

True, but OTOH it's always pretty much been this way, even before there was a legal tampering window. The only change resulting from the legal tampering window is that now the NFL doesn't look utterly idiotic/inept for pretending it isn't happening.

I do think Matthews could be a good fit here. Not big or anything, but he has a bit of size on him, and more importantly the type of agility that tends to work well here. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he turned into a thousand yard receiver here.

Morris will cost more than Forte.

You think that a proven dual threat bell cow RB like Forte is going to be cheaper than a guy who averaged 3.7 YPC last year and has been on the decline since his big rookie year?

Maybe on a longer term deal, but their yearly AAV numbers should be pretty similar in my opinion. I still think people are vastly undervaluing Forte. He should still be receiving offers in the 4-5m dollar range, just not on a longer term deal with bigger guaranteed money.

For the record, I'd be happy with either one of them, with an obvious preference for Forte, of course.
