Same. I'd think BB is extra careful during this legal tampering period. Wouldn't be surprised if we've signed some players already.

Yep. Unless, of course, they can find a win/win situation for both parties where he agrees to a nice chunk of money right now.

Yup. Not sure why it isn't like the NBA where it's allowed but they can't make them official until the actual date. The rule in itself is just so ignorant. How can you expect the player not to reply to the offer?

I thought they changed the rules this year to where it is exactly that - you can pretty much write up the entire contract, only thing you can't do is actually sign it to finalize it - that has to wait until the start of free agency. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Does MIA know that spending big in FA does NOTHING to help your team win? I mean the Pats spent big in 07 and made the SB..but that is probably rare or has never really happened before.

Among other things, a team cannot “execute an agreement in principle” with the agent for a player who is not yet free to sign elsewhere.

Maybe I am dense but I interpret "execute an agreement in principle" as signing the agreement.

I don't see why there's any issue with reaching an agreement... Just can't execute it. But I guess if Florio has his panties in a bunch over it then I'm probably not understanding it correctly.

Only team we know is GB. Could be so quiet because maybe that's the only team that's talking to him. I am sure if others were it would come out or would have came out

It's black and white.

Both parties signing an agreement = executing.

Both parties agreeing in principal but not signing = not executing.

That's standard practice.

That's how I'm understanding it. So then what the hell is Florio mad about??
