Glad he turned us down.
I would imagine it was probably a 1 year deal if I had to guess. NO gave him 3 for whatever reason.

You mean like Denver?

Interestingly enough, I read yesterday that the 2015 Broncos spent approx. 50 percent of their entire cap allotment on free agents last year.

That's by far the highest that any SB winning team has spent in quite awhile.

Well, it worked.

It worked. Not totally because of that (they also needed quite a few of their competitors to get hit with the injury bug) but that played a big reason in it. Their FA acquisitions on defense were the prime reason they were able to drag a broken down old fart at the most important position in the game kicking and screaming to a Super Bowl title.

Hes a gonner. Too many clubs interested. A DT that can get to the QB a little and play the run well is gold.

Agreed, and this has Mark Anderson written all over it. Dumb teams pay guys like this after they've produced for half a season and established the highest market value they could ever conceivably have, when just a year ago they could've had the same exact guy for peanuts.

Smart teams get the next player who's currently available for peanuts and will be lined up for a payday next year.

Suh, Williams, Vernon, Wake

The first 3 can be erratic and dirty. Better beef up that OL.

In 4 years, Hicks has averaged less than 2.5 sacks per year.

I really like the guy and see tremendous possibilities with him if handled correctly. But yeah, Mark Anderson x 10.

but they get a 1st Id wager arizona.

New England better get on the phones if they are indeed interested in moving Chandler.

35 year old Ben Watson just got $4M/year deal from one of the execs in the NFL who actually knows what he's doing. We're going to have to draft a TE.

I think they can manage 3, but it will be pretty tight... and they wont be able to make any other splashy moves, just some lower end depth signings..

At the same time, BB doesn't typically double dip into the same position for top end contracts.. I doubt its a rule of this, but probably a general philosophy that you'd rather spread your top talent out over each side of the ball..
Better to have an elite guy at every layer of the defense (DBs, LBs and DL)..

If that were the way it was going forward, that means either Hightower or Collins would be the odd man out.. although I'd prefer to think of Collins as a DE/OLB versatile pass rusher.. whereas Hightower is your big, nasty middle linebacker...

With the 3-4/4-3 hybrid defense, the line between DE and OLB is very blurry
Maybe. In another post I did some research on the top contracts of their peers and it's scary.

Maybe. Or they like what AJ Derby may bring them.

You never know.

I doubt Wallace is ready to accept a WR4 type of role.
Don't want him here. Especially since he will want too much money. I was just posting here that he was released.
