Didn't see an actual thread for this yet, where's all the rumors? Must be the most quiet start to free agency ever. Must be quiet after Captain Integrity complained last year about tampering.

There has been the Philly-Miami trade and a little tiny bit of talk but yeah it seems to have been somewhat quiet so far.

The Detroit Free Press reports the Lions "hope to know" Calvin Johnson's 2016 status in the next 24 hours.

Release the beast

I remember last year it got ridiculous in the tampering period to the point were many of the top free agents came to agreements with teams before the period even started. My guess is this year it was more emphasized to not come to any agreements yet.

Not unless you want the franchise to have to pay a truly massive $100,000 fine anyway.

Coincidentally or not, teams are now allowed to make formal offers, with the understanding that it's not officially a done deal until the paperwork can be submitted Wednesday at 4:00.

Exactly. This was a smart move by the NFL front office, which really took me aback on principle. The rules in the past were really kind of silly. This time, you can pretty much do anything except sign on the dotted line. This is good for everyone - everyone (players, teams) will know where they stand and be able to continue on / move to Plan B accordingly.

Eagles trading Murray to Titans.

Dwayne Allen stays with indy for a 4 year, $30 million deal. No thanks.

LOL. $7m/year for Dwayne Allen? I think most people were expecting something around $3-4 MAX.

Classic Grigson/Irsay.

As I expected, the free agent tight end market is a disaster. I hope the Pats can get some extra WR depth this offseason, because I don't think it makes any sense to pay what it would take to get a decent #2 receiving tight end.

I might be in the minority but i think Dwayne Allen is a really complete player good blocker and receiver who has top 5 TE potential but it's a lot of money for a guy who's had a lot of injury problems, he's not been able to showcase his pass catching ability much lately cause their offensive line has been so bad he's been forced to stay in and block most of the time.

I'm not a fan of their other guy Coby Fleener, i think he's soft and can't block worth a damn i hope they keep him cause i don't want the Patriots going anywhere near him.

What the flying f***? Over $7m a year for a guy who's got 91 TOTAL receptions in his 4 year career... I like the guy but good lord that's way too much. He's getting paid like Gronk... Nice job Grigson...

They have to let Fleener walk and make him their featured starting TE for this money, they can't have him as the 5th option in the offense anymore.

The Gronk contract is such a bargain, how long before his team start complaining for more money?
