It Has to Happen....

I personally don't give a **** how they get there. I just want to see the Pats win a 5th Superbowl so Brady can shove the Lombardi trophy up Goodell's *** in front of everyone. That being said, I still believe the best route is with HFA and that would mean the Broncos lose, so there's that.

For us NE fans this is a showdown that we are not as afraid of as maybe other teams would be.

The fact remains the two facing of against each other has always been a classic matchup and although I am more pi^%ed than the next guy at how Manning is treated/revered in the media, I have always been one that has had no problem with him.

They have had great battles. That 2004 20-3 Brady playoff win continues to be my favorite playoff (non-superbowl) win to this day. Classic.

In Denver, with that defense, that crowd and that thin air come the 4th quarter....we will be in tough, with or without Manning. Yes we had a 14 point lead but we lost.

Love the playoffs!!

My first choice would be for HGHead to show up in the divisional round with the usual huge bone lodged in his throat a gag up another choke job for the ages, to cement his legacy as Mr. One and Done, the greatest regular season stat whore in NFL history.

And I would dearly love another home AFC Championship game.

But if it came to pass, how sweet would it be to curbstomp the Broncos on their home turf? Imagine with Simms softly weeping, bemoaning "Dinver's" misfortune. And best of all, Jim Nantz, in his Bronco footie pajamas, blubbering like a two year old, wailing "Oh Peyton! Peyton! Peyton!" on national television.

If NE goes into Denver with Edelcritter and Amendola, Hightower and Collins, my gut says they will humiliate the Broncos, who have been far and away the luckiest team in the league this year.

...They shouldn't have choked against Philly if they didn't want to do that.
They shouldn't have choked against Denver.

The Philly game was more of a turnover-fest than a choke-job.

I would rather see US put an end to Manning's season. It would be far sweeter.

Seeing our fans scared of Manning beating us makes me ashamed. Eff that, we should beat Denver either here or there. We should want to see that; I know I do.

Technically I SHOULD be able to bang my wife whenever I want.... Doesn't usually work out like that....

Brady typically doesn't turn the ball over in the red zone. The special teams (to that point) typically didn't **** the bed. The Patriots should have won that game in a blowout. That game was a choke job.

honestly, I don't even really care. Its not like the Haters are going to stop hating if he wins a fifth. Id like to see Brady get a 5th but im not going to be desperate for it like i was for 4. But yeah screw Peyton, lets play the the AFCC at the razor

I'll just be rooting for Houston this weekend. I'm going to keep it simple. If they end up pulling off the upset then I'll have to root for Pittsburgh.

So the general consensus is, Manning has a noodle arm and is all done, but we are scared to face him in the playoffs? That is a sad commentary. Personally, I would welcome another historic matchup. I am not sure why that touches a nerve with some people.

It has nothing to do with being "scared" to face him. I think Manning racking up another one-and-done is more fitting.

So we don't think we can beat Denver on the road but we're confident we can beat a team that beat Denver on the road?

Well, yes--because we'd be at home to play that game.

For the record, I'm not more than 60/40 one way or the other, and I've had moments where I've changed my mind as to what would be better, but in the end it's very difficult to argue against staying home and facing Pittsburgh or even KC in the AFCCG.

I think the concern is much more about having to travel across the country into the thin air of Mile High stadium than it is "just" facing Manning.

That said, I'm a hard core Pats fan, so all I want is another SB. I couldn't possibly care less if the matchup is considered "historical." As a matter of fact, this isn't really the year to stand tall and call out all contenders, at least not since Edelman went down and they lost their mojo. This is the kind of year that we'd need some luck, health, and good matchups to win it all, and that rings true for most SB champions.

This is how I see it with the 2 upcoming AFC wildcard games! If Houston pulls off the upset I'll be rooting for Pittsburgh to knock off Cincinnati! If KC beats Houston I'll be rooting for Cincinnati to knock off Pittsburgh!

The one thing that makes me leery about wanting to play Cincy over KC is the fact that I think Cincy's offense is still well balanced and capable of scoring.

They have a strong running game, a great TE, and at least 2-3 WRs who can hurt you. I just wonder if what they lose to KC on defense (not as much as some may think), they may make up for on offense, at least in terms of being more balanced.

I think offensively, KC is just Maclin and Kelce, with a less amount of talent at the two RB positions. Then there's also the fact that Dalton has been doing conditioning drills for over a week now, and also had his cast removed. Would he play in 10 days? If so, they may be the tougher team.

If we go play the AFCCG in Denver we're gonna witness the most egregious refereeing in the history of the NFL and it's going to be a non-story by the next day, just like Manning taking the juice is a non-story. Actually it's gonna be worse with scumbags like Al Michaels flat out mocking the Pats like "how is it to play in a fair field?" etc ********.

I'd love to go there and deliver a 50 burguer but as it is right now, they have a better defense and not the better offense on paper but I don't even know what kind of offense we have know.

**** Denver

I want Manning to go one and done a 10th time to add to his eternal legacy.

I don't want to risk going into that high altitude hall of nightmares as a banged up team because IF Manning beats us there will be no living it down. With our team the way it is, and with how we historically perform in Denver, the game will likely be close. And if its close just a single 'convenient' missed call could cost us the game and propel Manning to the NFL's Golden Anniversary *********** power hour known as Super Bowl 50.

Nope, I want nothing to do with it. Let him go one and done.

Well, it happened in 2013 when the Pats were super-beat-up, Patriot fans survived, and Manning went on to have his most embarrassing game of his career on the biggest stage.

As for the OP, a Manning-Brady match up will make for good headlines and entertaining TV, but so will the Steelers.
