Rob Gronkowski injury

Not open for further replies.
Rob Gronkowski not expected to play Sun vs. Eagles, per sources. Likely to miss multiple weeks; return date will be a pain tolerance issue.

If he doesnt come back for houston, I doubt he plays again this regular season. They will wrap him for the playoffs. There is a reason BB didnt put him out for a single snap in the preseason.

No way. If he is ready to go by the Titans game you play him until the last game and probably that one if are still contending for HFA. Why on Earth would you let him build up 5-6 weeks of rust if it's not necessary?

I wouldn't mind week 15 against the Titans and week 16 against the Jets and sits week 17. I wouldn't mind if he sits until the playoffs, but it might not be good if he has that much rust

This really blows. We need these guys to step up badly. Home field advantage hanging in the balance.

damn...no running game, shaky line/top 4 receiving options gone.
.eagles wont be as easy as it should be.

hopefully, gronk comes back for the texans..rap sheet said maybe a game, now its multiple weeks??? BB isnt telling us everything.

Why play Gronk vs a team you should beat without needing Gronk?

Putting Gronk out there ASAP and him run around with significant knee pain is nonsensical.

no gronk...the grind continues.

If we get Amendola/Collins back this week we should take care of the Eagles no problem. I think we still win even w/o Dola and Gronk. Texans game might be a bit close for comfort but assuming Dola is back we should win that too. As depleted as we are, we are better than all these upcoming teams and should win. The Jets game on the road may be a pain in the ass but hopefully that we'll have a bye and that game has less meaning.

As I said if he is good to go by the Titans game or even one of the final two with HFA or a bye still in the air you play him instead of letting rust build up.

Obviously if he is still at risk of aggravating it then don't do it. But the meaning I took out of SVN's post is that we might as well sit him for the rest of the regular season if he is not able to play by the Texans game. I disagree if he is ready to roll.

Jets/Texans/Dolphins will be tough

I still think, even without Gronk, the Pats should roll the Eagles. Chip Kelly's gimmicky offense with either Mark Sanchez or the brittle Sam Braford should be a cakewalk for this defense.

Two games won't be an issue with rust. TN is a tomato can.

5-6 might be as timing is important.

Problem for Houston is that defense they run is one that BB knows like the back of his hand because it is the defense he ran for many years. He'll have a way to exploit it. And then there is Hoyer, take away Hopkins and Houston is going to have a difficult time.

Dolphins, come on that team just fired another coach and it will be the last week of the season they might make it a game for a quarter but most of those players will be mentally gone.

What if we are still battling it out for a bye week going into Miami? Or NYJ?

Eventually we should play him if he is ready when the stakes are that high. We need the bye week.

Time to get Chandler lots and lots of reps. Feed him the ball. You WILL become a legitimate TE2, damn it!

LOL Nah, that would be a problem. LOL He's just not very good. LOL

yeh, watch him play next week or the week after, its pain management.

I don't think the Broncos can win out, not with that inconsistent offense. The Bengals might, no clue about their schedule but then again, you would probably take care of them in Cincinnati. Until you don't have to go to Denver, you guys are probably golden, and it's not like you wouldn't be favorites even in Denver, it's just that it could turn out to be a close game. In Foxborough? Highly unlikely.

CIN still has a meeting with the Steelers coming up. This and the Denver game are the last two stumbling blocks for the Bengals to get a BYE.

I really want him to wear 2 of these from now on, just in case

Not surprisingly Brady went him the most he has all season and Chandler had his best game statistically. Chandler is a guy that needs to see a certain volume. The 2-3 targets a game thing is good if 1 of them is a TD or a 20 yard play but when you target him 2-3 times and 1 is a drop and the other is a throw that falls incomplete looks worse. But increase that to 8-9 targets and Chandler will make some catches.
