Are you suggesting that Hurley (the author of this article) is an idiot, or that Jane McManus (a woman), the ESPN writer who said this on Mike and Mike this morning, is an idiot?

I was listening to M&M this morning (I still catch them once in a while on my way in to work; they piss me off sometimes, but mostly I enjoy them). I was instantly furious when she said this. She totally missed the mark, and her attempt to backtrack on twitter afterwards is pathetic. There is no comparison to fans defending their team against unsupported assertions and/or a totally f'ed "investigation" and cover up by the NFL, with fans defending their team for signing a monster of a human being and then continuing to support him with oblivious and blind faith. Separately, I note that the Pats immediately cut Hernandez upon learning of his potential criminal behavior.

Furthermore, she assumes that all Cowboys' fans will support their team no matter what. Perhaps some will, but I have friends who are Cowboys fans that still love their team, but hate Hardy and think Jerruh has totally messed up here.

And I don't agree with it anyway, I think a lot of fans won't always blindly wave their pom poms for the team regardless of circumstance.

Forget the ridiculous of the comparison of the infractions. There is differences in the defenses. There is no doubt that Hardy beat his girlfriend. Even many unbiased (or even biased against the Pats) observers like Florio, Peter King, etc. question whether the league set up Brady and the Pats and whether there is any real evidence of a cheating scandal.

Since fans will adopt any stance, attack or defend, what we should focus on is an evaluation of the facts.

But what else would you expect from ESPN who still has not apologized for reporting false information creating such a stir over deflategate while continuing to employ Ray Lewis. They have as much integrity as Roger.
