Patriots-Redskins: Who Has The Razor's Edge? Key Matchups and More

I can see Julian Edelman going up to Captain Kirk after the game and screaming "YOU LIKE THAT!??!?"

No really though Kirk is cool. Gotta love watching players who you can tell genuinly love the game.

I won't be happy until they change their logo to this:

Can't post it here but, look up the South Park version. Genius.

Cousins gives props:

But in Brady, Cousins sees a player that's established himself as the model upon which other quarterbacks in the league can follow.

From ESPN's John Keim:

"He's the GOAT -- he's the greatest of all time," Cousins said. "He's done it for a reason. I have really only talked to him once but I did tell him the one time I talked to him, 'I study you, you do it at the highest level.' So he's kind of set the standard for all of us to follow. It's a high standard to meet. That's the goal, certainly, every year, every offseason to work and to prepare to try and play at the level he does week-in and week-out."

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins says Tom Brady is 'the GOAT - he's the greatest of all time'

Yeah, Cousins loves Brady. That's why its hard to root against him, at least when he's playing other teams.

I think there is a risk of a trap game. I live in DC area. The 'Skins are erratic. Lost a couple of close games, iirc at least once they had to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Had a good comeback win. Coming off a bye week. On paper the Pats should handle them easily. On the field it could be a different matter. We will see.

The Patriots don't have trap games.

+1

And that's how BB drafts them, signs them and trades for them.

The pats have never lost a game when they've been 2 td favorites in the BB/Brady era.

Don't recall the exact spread, but they must have been close to that number at home against Arizona in 2012.

Edit: They were in fact -14 and lost that one. It was with the replacement refs and involved a bogus call in the final seconds and missed game winning field goal as time expired.

From what I've seen, they've looked really bad in some games, and pretty decent in some others

I'm hoping for at least 2 Kirk Cousins INTs

I guess I got bad info from Holley today, I was having a discussion about this with my brother tonight and we didn't know where to look this up.

Everyone in the media has been looking ahead to the Patriots-Broncos showdown all week since Denver laid the smacks own on the Packers. That game is going to be epic.

So...who are the Pats playing this Sunday again???

They lost to Miami. They suck.

Kirk Cousins NFL Football Statistics | Pro-Football-Reference.com

He's a Michigan State guy so Brady will want to kick his ass.

Belichick talking about Kirk Cousins in Washington Post:

“He does a lot of things well, seems like a really smart guy,” Belichick said of Cousins on Monday. “He runs the offense well. They had some check plays and things like that, he does a good job there. He’s pretty athletic. Even though he hasn’t run a lot, but he moves around quite a bit. They run bootlegs, moving pocket plays, things like that, so he definitely has the quickness to create a little bit of extra time to throw.”

“He does a good job at finding and using all his receivers,” Belichick said later. “Running backs, tight ends, and multiple wideouts — they play a lot of people in the passing game. He definitely spreads it around. He’s done a good job at controlling the clock and making key passes to keep drives going.”

Blah-blah-blah...

Cousins is accurate as a passer, and is coming off his best game as a pro. He reminds me of Ryan Tannehill without the fish on the side of his helmet.

Yes, they've also come close a couple of other times.

As a whole, they consistently win when favored by 10+, but they don't have good numbers against the spread in these situations. They did cover this year vs. JAX though.

I live down here and had the supreme enjoyment of listening to WTEM 980 am yesterday around noon.

The discussion between Tom Loverro of the Washington Times and Kevin Sheehan of the station was about this Sunday's game and whether the Redskins could perhaps "Lose with Dignity" and they invited their callers to weigh in on what "Losing with Dignity" would look like. Scores of callers opined that if they could keep it within the betting line of 14 points, they would be quite satisfied.

The entire DelMarVa region is taking pre-emptive psychological bracing steps.

We are so blessed.

BTW, on Extremeskins.com, the prediction thread is pretty hilarious.

"I think its gonna be super close - Anyones game. Redskins will make a call and until the last second - no one knows what will happen...

Then things come up our way and skins win........
