I think he will do a great job filling in for Nate Solder. I think he does a thorough job in the running and passing game. BB is very high on him, had complimented his versatility athleticism strength and toughness many times.

We just need cannon to stay healthy.

There will be a drop off no doubt I just don't think it will be so bad as many are thinking it will be

I think many of us here typically felt as though Cannon was strictly a right side player, as his previous looks on the left side were downright horrible.

I was a bit surprised to see him take over at LT, but they tend to mask weaknesses in other ways, which allows the player's strengths to come out. He didn't look out of place in his limited sample size. We shall see.

He's adequate. And the speed Brady has been getting the ball out this year, he really only needs to worry about pressure directly up the middle. Plus, as we've seen all year, he's worked on his mobility. Good timing, that.

Do not know how Cannon will do against teams like the Jets, but do know that the Pats will develop offensive blocking schemes to help him out and play to his strengths..

Must have missed it but when was Cannon awful on at LT?

He did ok there vs DAL

Vollmer looked really good back at LT, why not keep him there?

Not only cannon but I have confidence in Fleming too. After this jets game we will know for sure at what level that confidence is because sometimes guys just need under fire experience to unlock their potential.

I said that his previous play on the left side prior to this year made many here feel as though he was better suited for the right side of the line. That was mainly time that he saw in the beginning of 2014 at LG, and yes--he looked completely lost. I think we've seen that in the preseason as well.

Like I said, although I expected Vollmer to immediately shift to LT and Cannon to RT when Solder want out, Cannon did not seem to look out of place in his limited sample size of the DAL game. It's also possible that he benefitted from some halftime adjustments which may have helped to mask his weakness. We will know soon enough when we see him play longer stretches of time.

Yes, having a TE like Williams on the left side likely helped, as did changing up some things to help Brady get rid of the ball a bit quicker. The aid of the running game is another way to help him along.

Ok so you meant LG. Yea he was a disaster there. Much better at T

The Pats have done well working the line at multiple positions. Cannon was paid for a reason, and obviously would have been well regarded in the draft but for his illness. It is never ideal to lose your first choice at LT, but this is exactly why the Pats paid the guy. Most teams won't have a spare top-level LT stored away for a rainy day. Cannon played LT at TCU.

Stork is eligible to practice this week and can return in 2 weeks. He has played center, guard and tackle in college. That may provide some options (I know Andrews played center at Georgia and don't know how much he has done otherwise on the line). Here's hoping Stork comes back to boost the line. It needs the reinforcements.

Thought so too I like our Best ie..SeaBass Vollmer protecting the GOAT's blind side. Cannon played LT in College and scoutiing reports say he is more suited for the Right side. I was shocked when Cameron Flemming didn't make the the final cut. I thought he was as good or better than any back-up we have, with the Potential of battling for a Starting spot. I know Flemming had help multiply times Sunday night but I don't remember DE Robert Mathis named being called.

This is the real question if Cannon can't go. Fleming I think allowed 4 pressures Sunday. Jets DL tougher to block and better coverage behind.

Hard to tell w/ Cannon and Fleming vs charmin-soft colts team. The real test is next week vs Jets and Dolphins

I think we need to think less in terms of individual analysis regarding Cannon vs. Solder and more in terms of system analysis; We need to see how the entire line performs over the course of the upcoming games with Cannon in there in place of Solder.

As of right now, the sample size is too small to make a definitive statement on the matter.

Be that as it may, hitherto, I have full confidence in the coaching staff and the players to work their tails off to actualize their potential on game-days to do their job in helping the offense field continued success.

I like Cannon overall. they need to work in Fleming too and keep those guys fresh and sharp. Having Williams in to help block is useful too.
