I agree. He'd be getting Coleman's snaps and maybe even Ryan's. Hell maybe even Brown's?

He did not look out of place at all vs GB and Jordy Nelson.

Hope he can come back in 2016 and start

If he does, we can just pretend that he is our 2016 First Rounder. Deal?

Didn't Troy Brown get that designation despite wearing 80? Although that would imply that he was inactive...

When that rule existed, it had to be a player with a QB number (1–19).

Let's not get carried away with the Coleman praise. Seriously.
You're right.

However, Coleman stepped in well as our slot/nickel corner against a hopeless JAX team.

I'm somewhat surprised that folks are telling us how great Ryan is as an outside corner, since he did well this week against a hopeless JAX team.

Coleman looked okay yesterday. Robinson is a good WR--better than the stats show--so it's not like he was getting beaten by a scrub, but he was cleanly beaten when he lost his balance a few times. Still better than Fletcher, and better than I expected from an UDFA rookie, but I doubt anyone will be declaring him the answer at CB3 after one week. Maybe he grows into that role.
What was with that? Only times I noticed Coleman was when he fell down. Seemed it happened to him a couple of times. Is he unable to stay on his feet, clumsy or tight or just unlucky?

Allen Robinson is the real deal cannot Believe O'Brien didn't draft him knowing that he coached him at Penn State. Allen Robinson reminds or A.J. Green love his Catch radius and the way he attacks the Football.

@MikeGiardi: Love the confidence of CB Justin Coleman. Kid feels like he earned his shot and is intent on not letting it go.

Who is saying that? As an outside CB, Ryan did not improve his standing at all. He is still a zone/slot short space guy.

I thought that some thought that we had a good corner play against JAX. Our starters outside were Butler and Ryan.

He was serviceable. Once Coleman came in Ryan got moved to the inside.

2nd outside CB? He might be starting there.
It's disappointing how far this position group's depth has fallen from last season.

Predraft my top CBs were Peters, Jones, Roberts, and Coleman. None of these players had overwhelming straight line speed.

Let's see what this guys does here though. He's shown promise.

Justin Coleman: 3-7, 22 yards, TD, PBU, illegal use of hands

— Coleman has been a very pleasant surprise as an undrafted free agent cut by the Minnesota Vikings and added before Week 1.

CORNERBACK

Malcolm Butler -- 72

Logan Ryan -- 72

Justin Coleman -- 52

The sample size is big enough to say that this kid is an upgrade over Fletcher atleast. Hope he keepe it up.

Yep, my exact thought on Sunday: This kid doesn't completely suck.

The TD play was bad but overall I thought he was ok yesterday.

I saw Rashaan Melvin coming in on defense one play. How many snaps did he have on defense?

He had by far the easiest assignment of the three starting CBs (Butler v. Marshall, Ryan v. Decker, Coleman v. Owusu) but did well, especially on fly routes, where Fletcher was panicking.

Coleman had been a pleasant surprise. Next year 3 of top 4 CB's could be UDFA's Coleman, Butler and 7th rd Roberts. Crazy value late.
