How should Judge Berman be celebrated for choosing the side of justice?

  • The Patriots should devote a statue of him outside Gillete Stadium

  • Kraft should give him season-tickets for life

  • Berman should never have to pay for a drink or a meal in New England ever again

  • Berman should be nominated for the Supreme Court

  • A street or boulevard should be named after him!

  • Other (specify)

I miss the Ground Round! Had one here in Shrewsbury. Are any others still around?

You need to ease up and get off your high horse. No one asked you to post in this thread.
I need to get off my high horse while you dictate who can post where?
If you don't like criticism, post better.

This thread is amateur hour ... no offense Chiuba ... judges serve honorably not by favoritism.

Referring to him as Richard 'Big ****' Berman is a fitting tribute IMO - no gifts.

I'm HIGHLY overexcited, because this one man literally rescued the way the Pats of this era and Brady will be remembered in history. Had it gone the other way, everything the Pats had worked for would have been diminished outside of Boston. The cheater verdict would have been brought up in every interview, every article, for the rest of Tom's life. I don't it can be overstated what Berman did for Tom and this franchise. I say make his surname a popular first name for New England babies.

Shakespeare knew how to pay tribute. I wrote a sonnet...err limerick for America's #1 judge.

There once was a judge named Berman
Whose ruling has the league b1tches squirmin'
He turned Wells to a clown,
Made Goodell bend right down
So Pats fans can pump all their sperm in.

Apologies for the vulgarity, but I'm still bitter

Yes, but you guys think this was all very black and white for him, and it wasn't. Judges very, very rarely overturn arbitration decisions. He had ample precedent to just say, yes, the commissioner made a brainless ruling, but he was granted the authority to act as arbitrator so that's that, and clear the case from his docket, but he didn't. He knew the process had been unfair and took great pains to craft a tight opinion that would be preserved on appeal. He obviously cares deeply for fairness and justice and that's to be applauded these days.

According to Washington's GM's wife, there is a Russini at ESPN who might have certain skills...

Belichick says "Do your job" and Belichick says that implies "Do your job well". In this case Berman did his job and if his decision is upheld then he did his job well. The best part if his decision is upheld then Berman's decision will be cited in future cases should the NFL end up in court again. Every case that the NFL loses in court sets a precedent that can be used against them in future cases.

I would love to buy Berman a drink but to be honest I cannot recall what he looks like. Unless somebody pointed him out, I would pass him on the street without a clue to who he is.

My tribute would be to have the court artist that did that sketch of Brady, do a portrait of Berman and auction it off and the proceeds go to charity or hire a plane with a banner that says Fire Goodell or Berman Rules and fly it over NFL HQ until the money runs out.
