Jerry Rice is just sick of hearing about stickum lately. Why Jerry? Are people questioning your Legacy? Your accomplishments? Do they say you should have your MVP award vacated? Well Jerry, how would you feel if you if you were accused of something you did not do and still had to face the same wall doubt? The beauty of Irony is that it forces hypocrites to sing a new song. :D

(In case you missed Jerry's admission to the use of stickum)

Compare his current statement to his previous one:

Feb 6, 2015

"I'm going to be point blank, I feel like it's cheating," Rice said. "Because you have an edge up on your opponent and its unfortunate that it happened.... I've played in cold weather, I know how hard the football is and you can grip the leather just a little bit better [if it's deflated]."

Rice didn't stop with the cheating comment either, he also added that if the Patriots end up winning the Super Bowl, which they did, their title should have an asterisk next to it.

"I think you have to really put an asterisk on it, because this is going to follow them, you know, for the rest of their lives, because when you look at it, when people go back and they think about the New England Patriots, they're going to think about these controversies," Rice said.

Never been investigated for stickum! Rice said via Twitter. “Mistakenly used that word and dealing with consequences! But I don’t have a problem taking a Polygraph!”

Rice, in a promotional appearance on behalf of Lysol, appeared on Wednesday’s PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio, and I can him an opportunity to clear the air. Did Jerry Rice use stickum?

“You know the thing is, the way I worked and my work ethic and stuff like that it really speaks for itself,” Rice said. “I’m not even going to address that anymore. When people think about me they think about the time I put in on the field. And even with the situation with the New England Patriots. The Patriots, they really deserve what they got by winning the Super Bowl, you know, that’s fantastic. I look at the Patriots and I think about the San Fransisco 49ers and what they were able to accomplish. And I look at Tom Brady — you know what? — he was able to accomplish winning four Super Bowls. So you know those are the things I’m focusing on right now and you know my work ethic was everything during my entire career and I think it speaks for itself.”

Too bad nobody will care.

Even the ones who were influenced by his original opinion will now claim that they weren't, and hence that they don't care he's completely flip-flopped.

There are tones of hypocrites out there. Jerry Rice just wants Josh Duggar to "not be alone anymore".

No takesies backsies. Sorrry Sticky Rice.

Shall you forever be tainted you hypocritical fraud.

Bruins29 post just gave a crazy idea for opening night.Do they sell those #1 foam fingers but with bendable fingers?Every body walks in
with one(were cool, were cool) then five min after kickoff we manipulate
fingers into giving Goodell and his merry men The one finger salute :)
Whats security going to do collect foam fingers all night?

There was one poster on the PFT article that stated it better then I ever could.

Rice admitted to using it.

With advance notice to be on the lookout, teams of interviewers, investigators, scientists, attorneys, 4 months, and $5 million dollars, the league couldn’t show that Brady did, said, ordered, asked, applied, or expected anything against the rules.

So when you put “Brady” and “cheater” in the same sentence, you’re admitting that the Patriots live comfortably and permanently under your skin because of what they’ve accomplished — legitimately — on the field.

Not surprising he plugging Lysol while telling this story, because it stinks. Has the odor of flat out lying. It's on video Jerry, you said you used stickum, there is no taking it back.

Can he become the spokesman for Febreeze? :)

After the deflategate conspiracy broke one sanctimonious ahole after another had to broascast their phoney moral outrage in order to feel superior. My dad told me when I was a kid there are two ways to have the biggest building. You can go around knocking everyone else's down or you can actually build the biggest one. These aholes don't like the size of building the Pats and Brady built because theirs don't look so big anymore.

I'm enjoying the fact that Rice got caught with his hands in the stickum jar.

If he hadn't been so quick to belittle the Pats success I never would have known that he struggled to catch the ball until he started using the stickum.

It's also pretty entertaining to see and hear him try to spin things his way now.

Personally I don't care that he used stick-um. This is the gamesmanship of competition. Guys trip, hold, gouge, signals are stolen, game plans are stolen, coaches offices and lockeroom activities.....to stuff like jumbotrons put up 'SHOUT!', player flops, players are tackled but leap forward in hopes the ref thought he wasn't down and a yard or two is tacked on. I've even read stories of morally liberal females being sent to the hotel lobby to inhibit a good night's sleep, fire alarms being pulled, turning off the HVAC in the visiting team's locker room. This is the reality of competition that has 8 or 9 or 10 zeroes after it.

The obvious and indelible gamesmanship underbelly that takes place at the highest level of competition is preferred by some. maybe most, to remain unthinkable. Ok, whatever, they prefer their false pedestal. But when someone who has himself waded deep in the underbelly reality of gamesmanship leads the chorus of sanctimonious and 'ignorance is bliss', they are an unquestionable DB (read: not Defensive Back). Hopefully they, Rice in this case, feels the sting of karma (and if I am hoping for karma, let's hope the karma deity has a little left over for good ole Rog).

It's a bit too late but IMHO he at least made an effort to do the right thing. True, Rice did work hard/was known as a hard worker. He earned what he achieved. And in that specific quote above he avoided a direct answer (which is what he should have done in the first place) and then paid respects to the Patriots hard fought accomplishments (which is what he should have done in the first place).
If Rice just would not have been a sanctimonious A-hole in the first place and said what he said above in the first place, none of these questions even happen.

imagine if thousands stormed and killed goodell.............seriously, what do you think the repercussions would be?

If he was killed it would bring a **** storm down. Just rough him up a little. What peeps should do is all dress in in a Brady shirt and blue sweats. Then all put on ski masks and rush the field and Frauger. Rough him up a bit and all scatter. I am sure they would not be able to pin it any anyone. Sure a ton of people would get arrested but it would be for rushing the field or something like that.

And even if a bunch of people got pinched it would be a cool Pats party in the jail for a day.
