Last year when the Patriots signed Junior Seau I was less than excited. I was never a Junior fan. Sure he had some good years earlier in his career but to me, he was over rated by the West Coast and national press. I bought into what his critics said about his being a "freelancer" and would not do well in a very structured defense.

I was wrong. He did everything tha we needed him to do and more. I hope that he comes back this year although I doubt if we sign him before TC. HE will want to spend as much time as he can taking care of his interests in SD before starting football again.

Now, it's Randy Moss's turn. I am not a Randy Moss fan and not very excited about his signing for what I know of him. He has shown that he not a team player and a "me first" type of guy.

I hope that I'm wrong. I'd love to be wrong. Being wrong here will feel so right, again!:rocker:

Enough Mossterbation already.

I want to be "wrong" about both Moss and Merriweather in the worst way... can't wait for everyone to tell me "they told me so"!

Of course with Merriweather I prefer not to make final judgement on any 21 year old... thank goodness no one passed final judgement on me at 21. Moss does have a history and needs to change his stripes so to speak - but I think he wants a SB ring in the worst way.

Mmm ... I thought that the predictions up in Homerville were always for blue skies and sunshine.

I have to say that I've always been a secret Randy Moss fan (and a not-so-secret Wes Welker fan) so I fervently hope my optimistic predictions for them are right.

When I look back at my wrong predictions it's things like: Dan Klecko will convert to a run-stuffing ILB; Bethel Johnson will be our deep threat wide receiver; Cedric Cobbs will be a successful member of the running back group.

So here are some predictions I want to be wrong:

Asante Samuel will not sign a new contract and will hold out.

Watson will not be the next Ben Coates.

Tom Brady will not improve his accuracy from last year.

Tedy Bruschi will not get back to his pre-illness level of play.

Junior Seau has finished with football.

Josh McDaniels will not develop as Offensive Co-ordinator.

Feel free to add.

Rodney Harrison cannot stay healthy anymore

I have to admit that the doubt has crept in. If Rodney is healthy and effective he'll be a big improvement to this year's team. I don't doubt he can be effective, but I don't know if he can stay healthy. I want my concerns proven wrong so badly.

This thread is depressing me. Stop it.

The Homerville Town Charter does allow for people to have doubts and even be critical of the team. I mean, we are not a bunch of extremist Homers.

However your doubts, fears, anxieties, and critism should always be tempered with the hope that you are wrong. And if you should be right, you should take no pleasure in being right.

Sounds like a swell town to bring up little Patsfans in.

But please don't tell me that the sun doesn't shine there every day and that it rains other than between 1 and 6 o'clock in the morning.

And if you should be right, you should take no pleasure in being right.

I think that disqualifies most of us on this board from citizenship ...

Granted he's an older player, but in fairness, the '05 injury and the one that kept him out of the '06 postseason were freaky (I mean good gawd, the jerk dived at his knees).

yeah, but it seems like some older athletes are more susceptible to freak injuries, especially when the legs are involved.

Actually it rains 4X per week between 2AM and 5AM. It keeps the flowers radiant and the grass a lush green.

The predictions I have got wrong are too numerous, and embarrassing, to mention. My current, negative, predictions are that the WR group may not be as good as many predict, that the ILBs are just too old and, erm, that we won't go 16-0.

On a positive note, we do have a team that has a good chance of winning the SB, along with 5 or 6 others.

I want to be wrong about Chad Jackson aka Bethel Johnson...

You forgot about crappin cupcakes and belching rainbows.
